Not anymore, she left her job in January to take care of the kid so I have that much more to pay for. She has bad credit and outstanding debts on a home in portland from her ex-fiance as well so I'm not going to destroy my credit rating sharing a bank account with her. Any petty cash I scrape together is hers, on top of me being the account holder for all our funds and credit cards.

I lived outside the US for 13-14 years. I regret it because I could have started a career and had maybe 10-12 years of retirement savings which in would maybe have made me able to scrounge a NEET life right now. Maybe I could still have traveled for 2-3 years.

I autistic, don't want to be in work environments,, meetings, conference calls, etc. But it was start to save some money or wagecuck $7.25 /hr so that is all I focused on. Then applying to literally hundreds of jobs a week. You don't need a degree for most tech stuff. And it doesn't have to be tech. Learn some other skill.

It's funny because I consider myself underpaid (shitty company in flyover country, been here too long) and i'm trying to find an easier job with better compensation, thinking big corp or government. I fell for too many Jow Forums memes so it's hard for me to find work that I can stand.

probably a waste of time. best thing would be to get a BS in computer science and actually learn that shit (don't fall for the "self-taught master race" meme, especially if you want to take it easy), but as you probably can't afford that you're next best option is to study up on the latest meme's on job boards, attend meetups (hopefully you're in an area with a lot of tech jobs, otherwise you'll probably need to move), cobble together a portfolio or make open source contributions that you can brag about. Getting a bottom of the barrel code monkey job with some shit consultancy probably isn't too hard, and if you squeeze some resume-worthy experience out of one of those roles you might be able to get less awful corporate position.

I've heard good stuff about it but never tried anything myself so I can't really say. Also, I don't think most employers have heard of it. You don't need to get a degree but just to get your foot in the door any type of a certification would at least have some value. Tech skills are mostly self learned anyway (even with a degree) so start by reading and playing around with different things. You might find that you're good at or like databases, front end, networking, IT security, data analytics, etc ...there is a lot of stuff and you might at worst find something bearable. Fuck, I want a NEET life myself but don't want to eat dog food when I am 60.
