A country is the sum of its parts.

You're wrong, a country is more than the sum of its parts.

protohistoric, then.

point is, despite being modern, it resembles some ancient civilization than a modern state. it's not only in the buildings (obviously those could only have been built in modern times, that being said they do have an "earthy" and ancient feel to them), but also in the darkness and the lack of "artificial" colours.
gets the same feeling across.

God imagine having to invade that.

>The Siege of Imbaba
>In late 1992, the "Islamic Group" (al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya) expanded its influence in parts of Imbaba. In November, the group purportedly announced the establishment of the "Emirate of Imbaba" (some accounts claim that foreign news media coined the term, not the group itself). This challenge to the sovereignty of the Egyptian state triggered the siege of Imbaba, beginning on December 8, 1992. In its course, the government deployed over 12,000 police and State Security forces, along with one hundred personnel carriers and bulldozers, all of which put an end to the Emirate.[7][8][9]

I wanna know more desu

Jesus what the FUCK?

What goes through the modern Egyptian mind when he looks out his window everyday to see these great symbols of Egypt's influence in the past and how they contrast against the irrelevance of modern Egypt?

I promised myself I wouldn't beef in front of the beef!

where is that?

It's more effective to just carpetbomb all that than to play the game of invading that clusterfuck.
