As I said, I'm aware of what I am but I am just me, and the only thing in common i have with my ancestors compared to strangers are name and blood, and I don't see how they justify taking credit for what they did

I find it hard to see how people struggle with the concept of being proud of others actions. I'm grateful for the actions of my ancestors because it allowed me to live a great life in a great country, I'm proud of my father and mother because despite growing up in much harder conditions than me they made sure I had an easy life.

with a nationality and country, there comes an identity. You are ascribed something at birth, and you may embrace it or reject it in varying degrees.

National pride is showing you value that identity instead of reject it, that you like your country and wish to see the legacy of its founders be carried on through its living members. It isnt a mono-faceted concept, its can be as simple as 'Pro-country I live in' as opposed to being 'anti-country I live in'.

Few people know how to communicate this, as it seems intrinsically understood by the people who have this national pride. Even less people who dont have any sense of national pride seem to be able to grasp it as a concept possibly as a result.
