In a pure literature analysis he is not good a writer. He don't have the skils of a Tolkien or Sapkowski. Personally I don't even like his style. Bur his novels can be interesting and are also "easy" to read; I mean you can understand easily what he writes for simplicity, the plot can be quite complex especially his old books.

I'll say its like reading those adventure books on pirates,cowboys or stuff like that. It's entertaining but it doesn't give you much. I don't remember almost anything of the GoT books and I've read them a few years ago. I've read the lord of the rings when I was a kid and I still remember it pretty well. Also yes there's a lot of sex in GoT books.

Well he wrote a great book. You can feel everything is "studied" I don't know how to explain. The books feels like a myth from the past, like King Arthur or so. I think people will read it for a long time. Game of Thrones its not comparable imo.
