Yes my family does for generations. Its a strange asset due to property tax means you have to monetize it via income farming, ranching, oil gas wind, etc. Or hold until a sale. You cant just really hold massive tracts without incurring holding costs.

He ain't making any more gold or oil either.

Hawaii just got done making more.

was there a tsunami?

Volcano eruption

It's not possible to own land. the govt owns all of it

Making oil?

shale

dude the only thing land is good for is buying it and holding it for 10-30 years. As country expands more people move in goverment connects more desolate areas to the grid hence your land far from the center begins to rise in value as the city expands clsoer to it . Thats when you sell or build say a housing complex by pooling investors if your broke

at least thats what my 60 year old high ranking boomer dad says

>buying land
More like renting it from government.

My family own a handful of fields, a farm and a forest in the deep countryside. The forest is to my name IIRC.

>he's mistaking a brown cow for a golden bull

Also that land doesn't really make money, we rent it to a farmer but gains are small.

Maybe God isn't making any more land, but sure as Hell Singapore is.

I thought owning land was just a meme

When AJ lost all his money in a bad land deal and tried to drown himself with the pool vacuum cleaner I almost cried.
