I'm from Ferrol but I've been living in the southwest of Lugo for 2 years and you can see the snowy Ancares always which communicate to the Asturian mountains and you get the same impression. Now there are highways, but the old roads to madrid from less than 30 years ago are still around and it's basically like route 66.
