There is nothing wrong with giving out tips if you liked the service
BUT if waiters rely on them to make livable incomes then that's a problem... a huge problem.
How will Americans defend pic related?
An inherent fault of capitalis-
Why foriegners get so butt hurt about tipping? It's a simple concept: I like your service, so I'm going to give you a little extra money. What's so hard to understand about that?
They aren't doing anything outside of the ordinary. Also, by tipping everyone every time, you are allowing for them to be paid less than minimum wage.
i work at a restaurant, but im a host so i get min wage + tips, and i fucking hate this tipping shit we have
mainly because most of the people, if not everyone, who works as a waiter/busser is a student who needs this money for gas to commute to school, get food, etc.
I live in a part of the country where the weather can really ruin somebody's weekend and keep them indoors. A few weeks ago was one such week, all weekend we had no tables. Thus, the waiters got no tips and on top of that were only paid like half minimum wage
so by the end of the week, these kids were going home with not even $100, and I'd say a little less than half of that is going to gas (we all go to the same school, and I spend about 30-40 on gas a week). That gives you about 60$ for the week, and if you're a commuter like us who has around a 40 minute commute, you're more than likely spending that money on food.
Thankfully I'm responsible with my money and try to live as modest as possible as I'm going through school, as well as making minimum wage so I get guaranteed money, but still, I see the struggle and it's unfortunate.
However, on a good day when the place is packed, you can easily make more on tips then you would on minimum wage. It's just a gamble without a guarantee for stable income
>a little extra money
Except tips make up the majority of the income
>I like your service, so I'm going to give you a little extra money
And if I don't feel like tipping, what are you gonna do then?
So much for your simple concept you stupid americfat
>And if I don't feel like tipping, what are you gonna do then?
You do nothing, mountain Jew.
Nothing is only what I tip you and what you can do about it, burger.
they get good tips when they do their job, and poor tips when they don't
it's democracy really
So if I'm paying them, does that mean that I'm their employer?
there are a few topics that just linger on Jow Forums and have been covered a million times yet autists keep creating the same threads every day. not sure what their motivation is. you don't even get direct 'yous' as a the OP.
Civilized establishments leave tips at customers' discretion, not extort them or include in the bill.
Tipping is bogus. The incentive for good service should be getting to keep your job.
>BUT if waiters rely on them to make livable incomes then that's a problem... a huge problem
is this leddit copypasta or are you unable to form a sentence?
name one first world country where you can make a living being a waiter. you can’t. that’s why waiters are all young students
>I like your service, so I'm going to give you a little extra money
>and poor tips when they don't
So what is it, goyim?
Tipping should be a personal choice where it doesn't matter whether you tip or not
Guilting customers to give tips is just the same as daylight robbery
Nigga a post with this pic was on the frontpage today, I got everything from there
Because you are gullible and start explaining shit that nobody cares about since they are just here for your yous. Look at the essay your fellow burger posted above. Most other flags ignore baits like that. But you always write essays. Sure enough there will be another thread like this tomorrow. And you will type the same essay.
What do you know about civilized, ivan? It is a 1st world discussion. You need to stay out of this.
Finland will be one the first countries to become absorbed by the next russian empire, so better calm your tits Mika
Swedish waiters did a much better job when they recieved 10% of the bill, it was a kind of provision that nurtured both the waiter and the owner (in form of increased revenue) Tipping isn't bogus at all.
Sweden. With experience your wage rises. Someone with experience could easily make 2500€ here and that's definitely a living wage.
So why do your waiters go to Norway?
Mostly kids who wants to earn some extra cash for their backpacking trip to SEA. I doubt you will find the kind of people who work as waiters for their whole life in Norway.
No one actually cares about (You)s themselves, it's not even the fact that you're being quoted, what matters is being given attention.
