Tonight I met someone that worked at a meat processing facility, and here is some of the stuff I learned.

-5000 cattle are killed and processed per day there

-16 hours a day, two 8 hour shifts

-1 cow is killed onsite every 11.5 seconds

-"It's impossible to stun and kill every cow properly because of time constraints."

-Bolt's are used to stun cattle before they go to the bleed line

-"Cow's are smart, they are terrified waiting in line watching slaughter, and sometimes some cows try to dodge the bolt."

-"Some cows proceed to the bleed line with bolts driven into their eyes, or their skull impaled with metal bolts and are still alive. They don't have time to make sure every cow is bolted properly and it goes down to the bleed line regardless, even if they miss."

-You get fired if caught with a cell phone while at work (worried about taking videos etc, he took these videos on his last day).

-even after ineffectively being bolted, and ineffectively having their throats slits, SOME cows have proceeded to the processing lines while still alive, where they have limbs chopped off

-he has heard of cows being skinned while still being alive after the stunning line and bleeding line. (He said there is no time to check every cow, and the line can't be halted because a bolt was missed or a throat was improperly slit)

-The holding lots cows are brought into are kept behind the building, with no public road access, so nobody can see the sheer number of cows sent for slaughter there every day.

-The lunch room at the cargill plant is called "feedlot", which can be seen on the video of the bathroom tour video at the end of the hallway. How fucking depressing would it be to work there and go to the "feedlot" for your break....

-the bathroom is a disgusting 3rd world shit hole

-cockroaches are in the facility, so much so that he had to be careful about his clothing coming home to make sure that no cockroaches came home with him.

-Super depressing working conditions

wtf i hate meat processing facility now

>t. Joey Carbstrong

fucking sick and disgusting the place needs to be shut down roaches are need to be gassed to extinction

Cute pupper.

slaighter houses would be more humane if they didn't exclusively hire illegal immigrant convicts

Been thinking about going vegetarian, or at least pescatarian for awhile. Shit like this is highly disturbing and I can't maintain my willful ignorance any longer. Mass agriculture is fucked up.

used to work with a leather company that was super duper stringent on animal welfare. could trace the leather in their shoes to the farm the cow came from, and would do audits on the slaughterhouses to make sure the animals were handled properly to their last moment.

killing animals is always ugly, but not having proper standards is vile

The Simpsons were a lot better during the first few series, desu.

Ever seen a shark eat a baby seal alive? That's just nature.

No carnivore is nice with their prey.

Sharks don't even have self awareness or the ability to empathise, senpai.

have you ever seen a dog eat a cat? or a cat eath a rat?

they are really fucking cruel. while at the same time, they can love their owners.

Used to work in a meat processing facility and can back most of this up. I got the job as a court order because of a domestic abuse charge and they thought if I had an outlet to unleash my violence I'd stop beating my wife.

empathizing with animals is counter-humanist.

>self awareness
how the fuck do you know sharks aren't self aware?

they are racist and praise fascist ideas, even when they are with their friends.

No one disputes that.

Industrial agriculture is literally killing the planet though. Rapid depletion of fertile soil, collapse of ecosystems due to the razing of natural habitats for more highly inefficient crop fields to feed animals that we eat. Pesticides destroying insects which makes food chains collapse, rampant use of antibiotics which is causing superbugs that can kill us with no cure. This isn't about empathy it's about the survival of our species.

>i care about animals you savages!!!

self aware =/= cognition

>tf
>tp

>why yes, i beat human's best friend to death to make them tender to eat

Now that's a proper argument, and I don't dispute any of that as an agricultural engineer. You brought facts, the australian just tried to cause sad feelings.

The world is being killed while humans are trying to keep themselves alive, it's dumb, and there is no system to replace the current one while global population is growing so fast. During my whole graduate studies my advisors would say it's not about changing the system, it's about making it less shitty so we get to die later and less horribly.

>oh no global population is growing so fast we're all gonna die soon!

The earth can support an estimated 26 billion people, we're only 8 billion. With the current rate of growth we still have another 600-1,000 years worth of resources.

>oh no global population is growing so fast we're all gonna die soon!
It's not like that at all. It's more like "the parts of the world that are growing too fast isn't really pulling their weight, so we have to do it for them by using more and more intensive systems that increase production at less than desirable costs".

>The earth can support an estimated 26 billion people
Sure it can, under perfect conditions. Which is never going to happen.

Where are you getting these figures from? No serious school of thought believes this.

This. Each and every single nigger and indian must be exterminated to stop the pollution and grant living space for the more humane and stable populations of white people.

As I understand this is hell. Every living thing literally trying to kill each other except humans. They can cooperate and kill others.

I work in a laboratory animal facility with tens of thousands of rodents. It's much nicer and more humane than you would think.

Why only animals? Why not caring about everything?

Disgusting. White people have no emotions

>brown people must breed like rats until pollution, deforestation and exhaustion of the land, soil erosion and desertification becomes such a huge problem that makes all of us miserable

They are eat thier own babies just for fun, and also

So you have no sources and are just a trolling brainlet then. Noted.

Yeah that happens quite a bit, hamsters are the worst offenders. They'll eat their children at the slightest disturbance.

>we still have another 600-1,000 years worth of resources.
>under my optimal hypothetical premise
and you can't see that this is a problem?

Stop eating and go mountains became a Buddha. Live means fight. Cattle allowed himself to give up on their freedom. Wild animals, always try to escape or they killing themselves if they are captured.

Neither you nor your kids, grandkids, great grandkids, great great grandkids or great great great grandkids will be alive to see it. Why worry about something that your bloodline will most likely never experience?

The UN estimates we'll run out of fertile top soil in 60 years at current rates of depletion. Something that takes a thousand years to replace. This is just one small example of why you're painfully wrong. It'll be your children that have to deal with it.

The UN can suck my fat nigger dick. I own and live on a sustenance farm in southern Michigan. It's not much, 10 acres, and only 2 acres are currently used for actual farming but those 2 acres feeds my entire neighborhood and can continue doing so for 100 years at least before someone will have to use the other 8 acres. That 60 year figure must be a gross generalization because Michigan, and American, soil are some of the richest soils in the world. Of all the nations in the world we will run out of fertile soil last.

You're not a carnivore.
