It's pretty difficult actually because our healthcare system treats people like patients and not like customers. If you go up to a doctor and ask you to prescribe you a certain medication like advised in those American TV spots they'll tell you to fuck off. Especially highly addictive drugs are never given out without supervision or even outside some clinical setting.

I've heard in Sweden (before you accuse this being a "3rd world problem) it can be quite fucked with their treatment, and that's considering if you get it because waiting times are generally high for mental evaluation there.

Legally it's pretty hard, there's a lot stigma around benzos due to abuse potential and lethality. Frankly I think most docs these days would refuse to start somebody on them although they might continue an old prescription.

With that said, doctors pretty much throw drugs at you here for EVERYTHING.

Anti depressants are easy, but the good stuff like addys/vyvanse and xanax/valium are a pain in the ass to get, it is possible to get them but you have to be very patient and persistant, it can take a year to go through the shitty drug gauntlet and then after telling psyches all the starter meds havnt worked at all they will then bump you up to the good stuff. That is why living in a big city is nice, the street doctors are plentiful

they would only ever be used inside mental hospitals. there are (long term) more efficient medications which are prescribed instead

Xanax has its uses very short term for anxious situations like job interviews or flying on a plane.

Xanax is easily prescribed unless you don't look like a drug user, rivotril is a little less given afaik.Traffic is very little, people selling their script. All grandmothers have some, just ask them. Useful medications, but addiction is very very bad.
