We have more than enough technology, price is the issue. Airlines would not make enough revenue compared to the cost of fuel and equipment to have those routes be profitable, even if they are in high demand.

when I flew that route you always stopped in dubai, it was pretty great after a double digit plane flight
legally to fly over the arctic or antarctic you need survival gear and at least a week's worth of food for every passenger and crew member. no point

It's called Project Sunrise. There's Perth to London with QANTAS. Now it's a race between Airbus and Boeing for a plane that can serve that route
