Back when Ethereum had its ico there was legitimate fud because Ethereum had real problems. They had a fresh young university of waterloo graduate with zero business experience running the show. The team was unimpressive and the code had problems. The code was clunky and difficult for beginners to learn so not friendly for business or adoption. It wasn't until well known blockchain coders joined the team and fixed the code did ethereum actually become a good project to invest in.
Im not saying that chainlinks a scam but it's delusional to think that it will ever surpass 10 dollars in a million years. It won't be the only oracle provider and competition is a real threat. Each api call is only worth a penny or 2 and the netwotk is only planned to be able to handle 10k nodes. Even if it does deal with financial contracts only a small fraction of that money will go into the chainlink network. Chainlink doesn't even have a finished working product yet. Everything is up in the air and its not worthy of these threads or this cult like worship.
Ethereum only had a few threads a week when biz was talking about it and the people discussed tech and at the time ethereum had zero competion. Link is a shillfest completely different from Ethereum and people invested back then admitted ethereum wasn't a sure thing.
