Spicy food has become very popular here, borderlining mainstream. Personal favorite peppers are habaneros and nagas. Food in the summers consist largely of barbeque goods, habanero and naga sauces to very well with them. I tend to prefer to eat bland during the winters though, something like pizzas with jalapenos would be as spicy as it usually gets during winter.

it's fine up to a limit but modern breeders are making peppers just to continue increasing capsaicin content. There's no real reason for it. The older pepper breeds taste good but the new ones would just cause anybody severe gastric distress.

Yeah I aggree with you on that. Capsaisin for the sake of capsaisin is just stupid. That's also why I like the habanero-naga range here, they actually taste breddy good, theres more to the peppers than just capsaisin.
I eat mostly latin food, but I've tried so many east asian foods that have like no flavor but are SO spicy. So thats been my experience. I have eaten a lot of Chinese and Korean food, more than the typical american btw
