Even medieval Lithuanian texts clearly differentiated between actual Lithuania and Samogitia. True Lithuanians lived in Vilnius region and in north of modern Belarus. Throughout centuries Lithuanians got Ruthenized and then Polonized. But after WW2 soviets kicked them out to Poland and replaced them with rural retards from Samogitia.
