Even if our ISPs start rolling out Gbps connections, us and Italy will forever look like this.
Availability of better internet doesn't equate to boomers actually caring enough to buy it. There's also countless people living in rural/mountainous areas and islands.
In urban areas like pic related it's better, however the connections are never symmetrical.

This happened because the minister responsible for the fast internet project was a woman for a long time.

Sure it's cheap but the coverage is garbage and there's dark areas even in shit like suburbs where they'll propose you 3mbps with a 1 year engagement.

Those sites are not reliable when it comes to statistics, people who buy high speed internet tend to check it more often. Typical village dwellers don't test their 10 Mbps internet at all.
