I do! Whenever I see an exchange student at my uni, I go and talk to them, and they're always happy to chat and share stuff about their country!
I also get to impress them with knowledge I partly get from this board hehe
The other day a newly made Chinese fren invited me out for dinner and brought me to an authentic Chinese restaurant he approved of, it was delicious.
Oh, how I love making international frens irl, too!
Do you ever make frens with exchange students?
Good for you fren. Most here seem to be rather odd.
Why would anyone go to Germany as an exchange student?
Why would anyone go to the US as an exchange student?
We got good universities and most are still very affordable to foreigners.
I did
Thanks fren! If only there was a Kraut exchange student in my uni... And a cute one at that...
If you're in Bologna there should be lots from the uni here, they have a partnership in the field of history and I think it's also an ERASMUS hotspot.
Oh I see! But yeah, I'm not in Bologna
I smoked weed with an American jew a few times. Nice enough guy but he definitely filled the stereotypes
I don't have frens.
Proud self-bump
I also did
People like you make the word great
Where'd you go?
walked past a university all the time in florence on my way to our small building, never talked to any of them because I didnt know what to say
I imagine they wouldnt want to talk to americans anyway
Id talk to you
t-thanks
Do you feel it too?
>It's real
lmao I thought student exchanges were just a meme on american TV shows
So do teenagers just live with some random family on the other side of the world for a year? sounds comfy desu
That does happen, but we're talking about studying abroad in uni, like your Erasmus
is hooking up with exchange students a good idea
Thank you so much Swedebro, very kind of you! I'm sure you too make the world a better place fren :3
I for one sure would heccin' do Ameribro!
well I wish I had known this then
I once met an american girl. When i asked her what state she came from, Strangenly as it sounds, she nervously responded "Texas, but you better not think i'm that kind of girl"
I still wonder what'd she mean by that.
Lol why so negative about this
You can always try and chat with a new lot of students another time! Like next time you visit abroad
And also if you want to you can chat with me! Tell me if you're interested, I'll give you my Kik or sum'n :3
Freiburg. How about you?
Marburg
>the next time you visit abroad
My italian is fading every day and Id need a lot of free time to do it. But I really wish I could. You guys are so nice, everywhere I went. Thought youd all be snooty like the french
nice and comfy
She meant she hoped you didn't think of her as a dumb cowboy hat wearing hick
If we exchanged contacts we could practise each other's language! I also happen to know Italian grammar quite in detail
Wouldn't that be fun, fren? :3
Well that's a bit underwhelming. I thought she wanted to suck me off
I'm going to sleep in a few minutes so please tell me now if you'd be down for that! I'd give you my Kik
Don't much, foreigners say portuguese stundents are not easy accessible. But when we do group projects things go well we are very easy going.
most of my close friends are intl students now. im korean but moved to US very early and a few years back i wanted to learn more korean so i ended up befriending a few guys and it exploded into the entire intl student community
non ho un kik
That's so nice! Thanks for sharing fren
Discord?
have a good day italybro. hope you keep making more friends and that you guys have fun times together
Core?
Aw, thank you! You too, you too! >w
There was a Korean in my class one time. She was super nice and sweet, but I didn't make friends with her, I wish I had
Her English wasn't great, but she always seemed to work hard, and even had to do a class presentation and did it all in English, it was impressive and brave I thought
Hopefully she made American friends cause I was too pussy and dumb to talk
>Core
What did he mean by this
Am I missing something?
another italian I knew on discord
thought you mightve been him
next time reach out to them. im sure most/all intl students are similar but since i only have experience with korean ones ill say they really want to make foreigner friends but find it hard to approach people and have a pretty bad phobia of english. always the risk of seeming like you are coming onto her if its a girl but if you have a kroean bro next time in a class make friends with him. we love dirnking so if youre cool theyl likey invite you out and you can meet qts then at the local korean bar
100% yes. I was an international ambassador at my college, which means I get assigned an international student and basically am their buddy/resource on campus and participate in international education stuff.
I ALWAYS try to befriend our international students and help them out. Lurking Jow Forums has been really helpful.
I got assigned a Finnish student named Erika, and she was super cool. I love international pals
There are tons of Koreans at my uno, but I've only had a class with that one girl. But I often see them around campus. One thing I've noticed with the Korean students, is they all stay together, I rarely see a Korean hanging out with a non-Korean. In comparison to other int students who become friends with the natives. I think it's the phobia of english you say.
I'd like to meet some though, I'm going to Korea soon and would like to hear about it from them
This thread is surprisingly friendly. It's refreshing to see some positivity on the Internet! :D
My gf of 2 years was an international student from China when we met. It was in America and I'm American
lived with a Zimbabwean exchange student when I was in university, the guy had a ridiculously british accent, played on violin and was good at fps games. Ahhh, I miss those days, when we used to get drunk, play csgo all night and after an ace or tight clutch he would jump up and play some short skit on his violin. Motherfucker was also popular among girls tho, I was super jealous
yeah they really dont branch out its pretty lame. my friends have been here for like 3-4 years and none of them learned any english. their families are well off for the most part so i guess its fine but what a wased chance. hope you enjoy your time bro, havent been back in years god i miss it. you just going forvacation?
OP here, absolutely BASED. Are you me? We'd probably make good frens, wouldn't we, fellow intl fren hunter (in your case you've got a licence but hey, same job) ùwú
I take it you're not that interested then... (?) I'm going to sleep now, anyway...
Fren is a state of mind ~
sure, whats your id
You're very based Italianbro. We would make excellent pals, I think! I had a good time as an international ambassador. I hope you will continue to be very kind to all the international students in your country. They are very bold and looking for friends. You get some good sleep!
I remember when I was in elementary school and a girl from England came to my school. She was ugly af, but kids thought she was cool because her portuguese was terrible and she was from another country. I thought to myself "why is everyone so over her?" But I was thinking that because I was frustrated, I was also interested in talking to her.
When I turned 18 I actually went to Canada and met a bunch of foreign people: Italians, Germans, Koreans, Chinese, etc and realized it really doesn't make any difference, despite cultural differences, making friends is hard af and I couldn't make a single friend, despite of going out with this swiss guy (he was outgoing as fuck and I couldn't keep his rythim).
Today I have no interest in meeting exchange students... and most of the foreign students in my college are either from south america or africa anyways. But I've seen some rare nacionalities here, like japanese and a woman from Belgium.
Yeah, it seems lame to go to school in another country and not make friends or properly experience the culture, what's really the point then?
Yeah just for vacation alone. Have a few penpals I plan to meet. I've been interested in Korean culture for years, so I'm excited to finally go
for a lot of them its jst to have a foreign school/degree on their resume lol. but im glad you have a chance to visit, man if you love drinking especially youre in for a treat
One of the most beautiful girls I ever met was my high school's Italian exchange student
She had a really nice ass and acted like an irl anime character (really sweet and innocent, and perky and kinda autistic)
We had a lot of students from Asia (mostly China and India), but they mostly stuck to themselves. They were nice to me whenever I talked to them.
