Econ is an absolute fucking miserable major, user.

Degree doesn't mean shit. Focus on highly visible projects, make everyone think you're smarter than you are, boss around people with no spine since they don't want responsibility, lie out your ass about your qualifications, and delegate everything and take credit for it yourself. This is how you build a career.
Majored in econ, unless you got a place Stanford it's a rather useless degree.
Accounting is. The others can be if you focus more on networking and pimping yourself like a crack whore.
You're actually right, but then why are you on /biz if your goal is to build a career. If you're on /biz, your only one goal should be total financial independence, period.
Information security reporting in. Will I make it?
I'm doing Finance. Am I fucked?
It's better then economics no doubt, I don't think you are.
How do I make social connections while being an autist?

I fucking hate this chart. I have a bs in mechanical engineering and I ended up in a sales job with a bunch of other mechanical engineers, it's bullshit
I used my ME degree to count sand grains on frack locations in the oilfield for a year and now I sit in a cubicle and draw AC ducts for a living. I'm saving money like mad because I really don't want to do this my whole life.
I studied Computer Science and don't even know the difference between Software Engineer, Computer Programming and Computer Science. It's kind of all the same major, but for some reason in two different tiers.
Upper middle class kids go to liberal arts college and major in art history/English/whatever because they don’t have loans and go to college because they actually enjoy learning. Then they get jobs like leading a bunch of 12 year olds on camping trips because they don’t actually have to pay back loans and enjoy camping and teaching youth. Other kids see this, major in same shit, and don’t realize they come from a different socioeconomic background because talking about money is taboo. Then they get fucked in the ass by loans. End of story.
My community college only offers economics. Will I be ok as long as I switch to finance when I transfer?
>rating who's the best wagecuck
We should be rating which majors create more entrepreneurs not wageslaves
Accounting/Finance double major reporting in.
Accounting is a meme. Best case scenario you will get a job at the CPA firm making 60k starting but working 80 hour high stress weeks to where your hourly pay comes out slightly above minimum wage. Worst case scenario you get a job at some shitty mom and pop company doing AR/AP making 11$ an hour as a glorified secretary. Finance is a waste of time unless you are going to an ivy league school.
Not to mention accounting is surprisingly full of Chads and Stacey's so if you're posting on Jow Forums you will have a hard time fitting in most likely.
I lucked out and got a cushy government job after toiling in hell a few years or I would have seriously killed myself. Go for something tech related if you want a better chance of making it.
None do, since you're left with a lot of debt afterwards and are pretty much forced to wagecuck. Which doesn't really leave time to do anything worthwhile.
The degree wont make or break your career. If you have the propensity and the interest towards finance and business, then you've got it. If you don't, you don't. The degree is an accessory to help you through the process of getting hired. Getting that kind of degree isnt a dumb thing to do at all, as long as youre not an autist
Tech is saturated too especially software stuff. Like how many fucking JavaScript framework you have to learn, unless you specialise in niche like cryptography / Blockchain etc. However the real problem is commoditisation. With commoditisation MBAs (lots of Chads and Staceys) took over. Startups are fucking stressful. Best route is specialise in a vendor-niche area like Oracle DBA or SAP Fi/Co or SAS analytics where sustainable competitive advantage exists for vendors. Get a less-stressful job on those vendor-niches, save and invest as much you can and attain FIRE. Don’t get lured by the romanticism of Zuck-Gates-programming brainwash.
I dunno, I know a bunch of retards that I wouldn't even assume could sustain a job in fast food that got good tech jobs out of college with no experience. I know dumb Stacy's that scan papers for a tech startup for six months that move out to San Francisco to be a "project manager" for some startup making 80k (shit money for SF but these are literally braindead stacy's with arts degrees) so I can't help but picture a ton of potential for a highly intelligent and motivated white male.
It may be possible to move to equity research (good for autists) positions with a solid accounting degree /CPA even though CFA is de facto standard for that.
Also if you're looking for a specialty COBOL programmers seem to be in high demand. Everyone who used to know it is retiring or dying off and a lot of government systems still run on it and can't find anyone to service their outdated junk and end up having to outsource. I bet you could be very successful as a COBOL programmer.
Anyone else recently graduate and get their job to discover the decay left by the boomers you replaced?
I understand your POV. However please remember that in commodity tech right now intelligent quant autists work under English majors just like other sectors. Quants autists like me found solace in quantitative research in equity and prepping CFA. However my 12 years span in tech industry (product tech / multiple startups / Fortune 500) is a horrible nightmare which tuned out to be a dead-end career. Tech is very different now compared to 70s-80s in San Fran. However media continues to brainwash kids for STEM degrees to ensure cheap supply. If you are an extrovert white male, you can do anything and same applies to tech. It’s just that autists have no place in tech now except in few ultra-niche areas
Is going after an MBA a good idea?
Yes, if you are not autist and business school is in TOP 10. It also helps in you lateral career switches. But the brand and alumni network of the businss school is the deal-breaker.
>it’s all the same
Shit tier college detected. There is actually very little coding involved in an actual computer science degree; it’s basically a math degree. You don’t even need a degree to do coding.
>But the brand and alumni network of the businss school is the deal-breaker
What do you mean?
I couldn't imagine waking up in the morning and thinking about what bracelets and necklaces I'm going to accessorize with today. Fucking fags.
The person who wrote this list has no idea. You'll be payed far more as a software engineer than any of those in unbelievable tier.
How much you make per year?
It was clearly a dirty pajeet. There's no such major as "computer programming". Well maybe in India I guess but they're a fucking joke.
Electric engineering is not even remote
Are u swiss?
$270k TC with 5 years experience, which isn't even high.
Hardware guys have a much lower salary band in general and also have a lower salary ceiling.
Accounting is almost a guaranteed path to the middle class. Upper middle class is very easy if you play your cards right, remember that you'll need more than a bachelor's at some point. CPA's need 150 credits, but a bachelor's is only 120.
Finance and Business are pretty solid. You'll struggle a bit to get work out of school, but once you get settled down it's not hard to make a comfortable living. Remember that finance jobs can have insane hours, but this is counter-balanced by the best opportunity to reach lambo land.
I would recommend against economics unless you already have a job lined up. It's closer to political science than it is to actual business. If you can get a job, though, it's pretty solid.
Its better to be a business major for that.
