So I think I've figured out why Etrade "adjusts" my stop loss orders sometimes. It appears that if I'm holding a company into its ex-div date and have a stop loss order set for it then Etrade will automatically adjust my stop loss order based on the dividend payout.
I had a stop loss order set for CAT at $129.65, I held CAT into the ex-div date and they have a payout of $.86 per share and Etrade adjusted my stop loss order down $.86 per share to account for the dividend I'd be receiving from the stock.
I'm not really a fan of having my orders adjusted but at least now I know WHY they've been getting adjusted occasionally.
Are you using etrade's analysis tools, treading otc, doing drip, or is this a tax advantaged account? If not rh will roll everything over there for free and you can stop eating ten bucks to trade
Nah, I just had this account left over from years ago and have continued to use it.
I'm probably gonna switch to Interactive Brokers soon. I had an Interactive Brokers account a couple of years ago but ended up never using it because I found Etrade's mobile platform to be more intuitive and user friendly for me and I wasn't making that many trades per month at the time so the commission didn't bother me too much. I closed the IB account out and moved that money to a NinjaTrader / Phillip Capital account to trade futures... I should've closed my Etrade account out and kept my IB account.

I'm never opening a short position again in my life.
Shorting must be an invention of the jews. Have you ever predicted a thing would go down and profit from it?
Wyatt Stewart
>trying to make money off the suffering and loss of others is a jewish invention No shit.

Also, Etrade's margin rates are atrocious, I think I'm paying like 10% APR or something like that.
I shorted GE from $24/share down to $17/share last year and made a couple thousand bucks. I also made a bit of money shorting BGFV and INTC.

shorting is based. don't short good companies and you won't get burned.

Tomorrow is payday boys gimme some meme growth stocks
generally i look for companies to short that fall into one of these categories - significantly overvalued - shit tier management - doing business in dead/dying industries - negative media sentiment
there is no shortage of these companies out there

Bring AMAT back to life tech may be getting bogged but it was criminally undervalued prior to boggening

The thing about shorting is that not only can you lose your investment but you can also end up owing money.
does anybody else here trade intelligently with patience and waiting for ideal entry points? or does everybody just FOMO into memes all day and lose more than if they just sat and did nothing
Why does Jow Forums have such a boner for LCI? They aren't that great a company and have been getting dominated in the generic pharm markets

Bagholders gonna shill

I guess. It's not a good company. If you wanna get in on a small generic, I'd say to do APOTEX. I'm a pharmacy manager and I've seen more and more of these bottles over the months.
Asher Price
Forgot about you guys. anyway 32 tick long on YM today
Thx M8, this was the kind of insight I was looking. Unfortunately APOTEX isn't publicly traded tho. What other pharmaceutical companies are on your radar?
Also I think the big push on here for LCI are their fundamentals. It seems like an undervalued stock, but it does require some sort of news/event to bring it back up.

>family had an intervention >realize that im too much of a loner and it's scaring people >realize I haven't talked to another human being except at work in over 6 years >haven't had sex in 8 years >Haven't hung out with people in 7 >never talked to another human being until I was 16 except school
I've created an entire world in my head. My actual skill level is low but I've created an entire world that I'm trying to get others to visit one day. Actually I take it back it's my world lol humans are shit and all need to get maimed tortured and killed lol. This is my paradise. This is the world I created. Nothing in front of me is real I create reality. I just need to break one habit and enter freedom than lifes perfect.
>trailing P/E: 10.42 Lower than the S&P average >forward P/E: 4.56 Lower than even consumer discretionaries/staples >P/B: 0.77 To my understanding, this means you could literally buy out the company, scrap it for parts, and book a profit.
>% of S/O held by insiders: 22.69% The owners have confidence and also such a large stake that they are unlikely to dilute >% of S/O short: 42.82% The shorts are fucking packed in there and losing room to pack in much further -- HMNY is at 25.32% >days to cover (aka short ratio): 23.16 There are so many shares sold short relative to liquidity/daily volume that if it moons, it can moon very hard and fast
Looking at the P/B ratio, it's not like this thing could halve. The inherent value of the shares should keep it from falling much further without becoming absolutely ripe for a buy-out. This looks like a case of irrational exhuberance among short sellers.
Screencapping this post for future threads.

Degiro. Note that my primary account is already in PLN, so I have no idea if conversion from USD to złoty is worth it.

Biogen. They are about to corner a specific innumotherapy market, possibly. We're talking billions.
APOTEX seems to have a stranglehold on all generic cholesterol meds, which is why I wanna get invested in them. They're very aggressive with generic patents for blockbuster drugs from what I've seen.
Genetech (traded through Roche) and Biogen seem to be the next ones in line for a rocket through cancer drugs. Population getting older, and cacner drugs will be more and more prevalent. Big market go get ahold of.
