In English we originally called Dutch and Germans, Dutch. IIRC the concept of them being different only came about after their wars for independence.

The Dutch are not a real people. They are a group of Germans who decided to devote their lives to mocking the English by speaking a broken version of English.

Are you trying to tell me the second I cross the border from the Netherlands to Germany the people and culture magically change? I mean there are flFrisians on both sides of your NE border, the only difference is no one speaks East Frisian anymore.
