in Belgium, if you don't vote you get fined

Europe is so gay

Is voting in second tier elections as a zoomer based or cringe?

'Ate this fucking union

Voting is mandatory in Lelgium, or you get fined. Between october 2018 and may 2019 we have like 5 elections: municipal elections, provincial elections, Flemish elections, Federal elections and European elections. (Only the Euro election is not mandatory)

>novotekia

and thats a good thing

How do you vote? Like, do you have to physically go to some location or can you do it online? Sounds like a lot to get fined for not participating but I aggree in the sense that something has to be done to increase youths participation in the elections.

You have to physically go out to the voting booth (usually in a school) with a voting letter you get in the mail a few weeks before.
The turnout for the Euro election is probably so high because it's done at the same time as the Federal and Flemish election (so they'll give you 3 charts to take into the booth to vote Flemish, Federal and European in succession.

If they held the European election on a different day than the other elections, not a soul would show up

I see. But that's a great arrangement for it, well thought out. Would be tedious to travel to the booths several times a month. How much is the fine if you don't vote?

Between 30-150 euros depending on how many times you don't show up. Of course it's entirely legal to hand in your voting ballot blank, as long as you show up and hand something in.

>finland 10%
fucking based desu

There won't be more than 20% globally here let alone among the youth.

Any decent math that show how matter a single vote is? Boomers here keep telling me to vote because reasons but it sounds like bullshit for me.

>sweden 66%
How?

If there's 200 million voters, then your vote is 1/200000000th of the vote, is that the math you wanted?

>novotuomi

too many fucking nerds bro

I hate finland now

Thanks for enlightening me on this. How do you feel about the system?

It's not about how much of an impact your lone vote has, that's the whole point of polls, to get a diverse representation that diminishes the impact of a select few to better represent the whole population. Your lone vote wont have an impact, but you still need to vote to ensure the system works as intended. Every vote you dismiss is more power to some boomers trash vote against you.

>european elections
what are those? never heard of such thing

I have never voted in my entire life and I'm 25

I'm not against mandatory voting, but you do end up with a lot of people who don't care about politics and just vote whatever eg. My grandma has always voted liberal because "thats what my father used to do", even though the liberal party today barely resembles the liberals from the 1950s

based

perker

We live in a society

And then they bitch and cry when they get a result they don't like.

Yeah, that's what I was a bit worried might happen. I guess proper education on the matter would be the best way to go about it, but there's only so much you can include in a curriculum. However I do think your system is way superior to ours as is. I'd also like to see the Estonian electronic voting system to gain more traction internationally.

Our system where you have to go vote at a ballot box with no direct drawbacks from neglecting it is terrible, resulting in mostly boomers casting their votes. Also we too have uneducated people who instead of making a decision on their own, look up to someone cope their votes. This results in contradictory votes where people vote for parties that have their agendas aligned against them.

nah

>Slovakia 6%
Will Romania ever reach 5%?

Vote is mandatory in Belgium. If you don't vote, you get a fine.

25% of the French and naive and dumb.

>when the naive and dumb vote, the FN becomes the most voted party
huh

every country with more than 25% is full of gay retards

FN is for the naive and dumb. That's a s*cialist party.

13%??
how is that possible, i don't know one person that actually gives a fuck

voting's for fags
democracy is a scam
