By the time the code is actually finished (and we're at build 0.3, if that's any indication) there will have to be a multi month testing period where node operators are allowed to test the network.

They built it on ropsten because it closely matches the production etherum network.

Most companies won't advertise they're using chainlink. Microsoft will be assisting those companies using azure blockchain. Those companies won't even be aware they're using chainlink.

Who said Oraclize are a competitor?

These products are completely different, it's like comparing a single restaurant with delivery to uber eats and calling them a competitor.
Some people may prefer to order directly from a restaurant, but the masses will go to the distributed marketplace.

Oraclize are limited in scope of what they can achieve by pure centralisation. It would not surprise me if Orcalize become a solution integrator of chainlink for many businesses who want decentralised oracles.
