The ISS is old. You can keep updating/patching stuff but imagine what you could build nowadays if money and public opinion weren't such a problem. Last time I checked it's the Russians who keep rocketing hot pockets to the ISS, not NASA. Maybe Elon will offer the ISS a deal with his fancy rockets.
