Also, Korea wasn't colonized by the West or Russia because it was a Japanese colony. Essentially, the First Sino-Japanese War and the Russo-Japanese War were fought to determine who was the boss of Korea. So, I don't get your purpose of bringing up this as Korea's feat or something.
