I want to grab that child by the hair and use him as a flail

Very nice.

I used to have a side braided trail when I had my hair cut short. It's not that uncommon. I still braid it sometimes when it's very hot, now that it's the usual shoulder length.

My asian neighbours kid has that hairstyle

are they tungusic?
is it not very hot to have long hair in brazil?

Sure not. And depends on the region - It's only hot here half of the year; Long hair is as common as short cuts.

Daily reminder if you are of chinese descent and you think queue hairstyle is cool then you’re also admitting to thinking the massacre of your ancestors was cool.

A symbol of barbarian oppression

1. most manchu bannermen were chinese (75%)
2. most if not all officials who enforced the queue order were chinese
3. if my ancestors were massacred i wouldnt be here today, they werent stupid confuciancucks who held onto their hair for muh honour and knew to adapt with the times to ensure survival for themselves and their family
4. unorthodox hairstyles other than the queue have always been present in china

Looks silly

>1. most manchu bannermen were chinese (75%)
Still, they numbered a drop in the bucket compared to their compatriots they subjugated. The ratio goes up to 1:100.
>2. most if not all officials who enforced the queue order were chinese
The same could be said more often than not about different policies historically enforced to many colonized nations.
>3. if my ancestors were massacred i wouldnt be here today, they werent stupid confuciancucks who held onto their hair for muh honour and knew to adapt with the times to ensure survival for themselves and their family
Not arguing against giving up one’s chance of survival being stupid but you really can’t blame people who lived then for how much they valued their traditions. And it’s not even that queue hairstyle is factually superior to the previous traditional hairstyle by then or today’s standard. At least by aesthetic perspective that is, your preference for pigtails belong to the minority. Muh ethnonationalism aside, in most people’s eyes they do look swarthy and uncultured compared to the previous hairstyle of continuity for millennia in China.
>4. unorthodox hairstyles other than the queue have always been present in china
Yes but they were never widespread. Afaik Qing wasn’t the first time Han Chinese wore the queue hairstyle, it was probably enforced to northern Hans during Jin and Yuan too. Had it actually turned out to be superior, Han Chinese would have adopted it by themselves after the invaders were gone.

Let’s remind that the queue hairstyle in Qing was only enforced to Han and not to Mongols or Tibetans. Koreans got assraped by Qing but we got away with it too. What does this mean?
