who gives a shit, most countries have cents or some shit like that, there is no real difference at the end except that you are dealing with bigger numbers

how much money do you have to carry around to buy something

our bills have bigger numbers in them, the smallest one is the 1000 one
no difference, you just use bigger numbers

how dumb are you?

Kill yourself lachlan

m8 I was in chile a couple of months ago. They have 1000 peso notes, and then it gets larger from there. It would be simpler if they just took a couple of 0's off their notes, but that's not how economics works, and they're not the only ones with large denominations.

Also Chile is fucking expensive.

Nothing.

silly question.... you want to buy a coke? you carry 475.468 bills with you, obviously
you don't even count them, you measure the height of the bills with a rule, its easier

We don't have cents

Why doesnt your currency use a different scale?

>Also Chile is fucking expensive
really is?
t. travelet

Why is Chile so fucking expensive? Seriously it's not much cheaper than Australia for a lot of things.

why would we?
the whole transition would cost a lot of money and the current one works perfectly fine

It really is, most hostels I stayed at were between 10k (cheapest) and 25k (most expensive) pesos. Beer and wine was cheap, but in many cities a meal from a restaurant was be 8-12k, almost the same as australia.

I ended up eating a lot of completos, and drinking a lot of vino gato lmao.

can you give some specific examples?

You went to tourist traps

Tourist traps are measured in travelers' wallets. Actual life there aside from the southern part costs ok

Why? Just to erase some zeros from our bills? It seems pointless.

see >You went to tourist traps
Nah I didn't, I didn't do almost any tours etc, they were far too expensive. Just the cost of hostels and food etc was not that cheap, especially compared to the rest of south america. Argentina was also kind of expensive, but thankfully you were having an inflation crisis so that made it cheaper for me lmao.

Also FUCK Argentine and Chilean taxes and fees, they're fucking STUPIDLY high.
>oh you wanna get money from an atm $10 fee lol
>oh you wanna pay with your credit card 22% fee lol

>I ended up eating a lot of completos, and drinking a lot of vino gato lmao.
Based. That's the quintessential Chile experience

>Chilean taxes and fees
>high
user, are you sure that you didn't get scammed?

I saw him post on othwr threads

Hes.mainly complaining about our ATM fees, not yours

At most, your route tolls are kinda ridiculous

You complains are ridiculous.... what were you expecting? southeastern asian prices?

>Based. That's the quintessential Chile experience
Yeah I know. I wasn't really disappointed. Still, not cheap.

>go to atm
>press foreigner account
>withdraw cash
>you will incur a 5,000 peso fee, continue?
or
>go to pay with my credit card
>15% fee, is that ok?
I may have been scammed, but it's your banks that scammed me.

Make 4000 into 40.00

I mean even Japs do that retarded stuff like 1000 yen bills

It's your fault for being a foreigner

Complaining about huge bank fees is ridiculous? There's no reason your banks should charge such high fees. Especially coz your banks all seem really shit.

It's a burden I just have to bear. Also, Australians have to pay US$120 to enter Chile at Santiago Airport. ONLY Australians and ONLY at Santiago airport. Bloody crazy. I didn't have to pay because I crossed the border from Argentina in the south.

Hahaha what really?

We use reciprocity fees, so you need to pay because the Australian government makes us pay to enter Australia

I find other currencies so weird. Like, here I buy a bottle of water at a store and it's only like $1.00 and it seems pretty easy to judge the value of shit like that

based

feels nice not being a cuck

yeah

Yeah. It's strange though because I think all the other south american countries got rid of it. But again, it's only in santiago.

But did you enjoy your stay in Chile though?

Yeah, I did. Southern Chile is absolutely beautiful. Isla de chiloe is very interesting, and I had my favourite food in all of south america there, cazuela chilote. The people were nice (except for all the drunk people yelling at me in the south). And I got invited to and had a great time at a house party in santiago, they even had completos at the party! Chile is a pretty cool place, and I like Chileans, even if you speak spanish way too fast for me to understand.

>except for all the drunk people yelling at me in the south
do you look foreigner ? i mean white lol

Light brown hair and relatively white skin, and the face of a handsome anglo. So yeah, I look like a foreigner. It does seem that lots of natives in the south have a problem with alcohol. Do they hate foreigners though?

nothing. chile is very based

>It does seem that lots of natives in the south have a problem with alcohol
What part of the south? I live in the south and the only drunk people on the street are mestizos or whites
>Do they hate foreigners though?
In Chile no one cares about foreigners

Pisco sours son Chileano.

I had a friend go around south america, he hated brazillians and didnt like their country but he said chile was the nicest of all the places he went, and peru were a close second
based texans

>he hated brazillians
lol
why?

>What part of the south?
The far south. I got yelled at by a few drunk natives, there were lots of drunks in the streets in Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales. I also got yelled at in Puerto Montt.

Those were probably mestizos, in those places is rare to see natives in the city

Many were mestizo, some looked full blooded native. Also in Quellon in Chiloe, it was very poor. Nobody in Quellon yelled at me but plenty of natives/mestizos looked at me like they wanted to rob me.

you just visited the most poor places.

lol

he didnt really specify beyond they were all rude and wouldnt give him the time of day
He liked you chilebros, although he said while people were friendly there wasn't quite as many touristbux to go around so it was all a bit poorer.
shows the difference a good host can make

Some of, yep. I also saw other places. Only a fool goes to a country and only stays in the rich areas. That's not really seeing a country.

LatAm loves Chile since 31 Minutos.

Chiloe is a small island, almost everyone know each other in the cities of Chiloe, so they will look at every outsider, even when I was there everyone was watching my the whole time

Chiloe seemed like a place lots of Chileanos visit, and not too many gringos. Do you agree? Also did you like Chiloe?

Also look at this fucking place. People lining up just for fucking instagram photos lmao.

Attached: IMG_20190122_131359897.jpg (2560x1440, 1.13M)

Yeah, most tourist on Chile who want to visit an island usually go to Rapa Nui, while the average Chilean prefers Chiloe because it's more laid back. When I was in Chiloe I just visited some family in Ancud for a few days, but I liked it a lot, I plan to move there once I retire from work

And yeah, nowadays people can't live without their social media photos to let everyone knows that they are having "fun"

>but that's not how economics works
That's exactly how it works. Many countries deleted zeros in their monies

That's because they tell you the half of the story about Pinochet's miracle. Chile is a 3rd world nation trying to play as a 1st world country. Our main exports are copper, wines, fish, fruits and lumber. Nothing else is as important as those.

Our economy is based on primary products and we don't have too much factories or skilled workers compared to an Western European country, the USA, Canada or even Eastern Europe. Thus, we lack that constant expansion in all areas that some countries such as China can explore. We also are behind schedule in science research because our politicians don't care and the education system gets more retarded every year.

Also, Chile has a lot of corruption going on among politicians and the biggest business men of the country. Lands are sold or given away for those rich cunts, they evade certain taxes and other 3rd wordly things. Only a very small amount of Chileans can enjoy a wealthy life style, so don't listen to the per capita figures. Most Chileans belong to a lower-middle class social position, making less than 800 USD a month while at the same time paying 1st world prices for food, water and electricity.

Since Pinochet left, lefties have done absolutely nothing in favor of the common citizen because he actually made Chile an excellent country for those who are corrupt. So, nothing changes, but they still pretend to fight for muh working class and the worst part is that people keep believing this 100 years old bullshit. And finally, between 2015 and 2018 about 1,500,000 of Caribbean immigrants arrived here as TOURISTS and have we have forcedly received them. Media, the joos, etc. and nobody cares about Chileans. A bloody Haitian is more important than a Chilean; they get housing, free education, you name it. That was Bachelet's fault, the cunt now in the UN talking a load of nonsense and receiving one thousand shekels.

you sure mate?

>2015 and 2018 about 1,500,000 of Caribbean immigrants
Oh wow. Sorry, have you tried joining the rest of LatAm and just straight fucking murdering the niggers?
