Hindi is only the lingua franca of North India, where all of us speak Indo Aryan tongues.

Muslims aren't an ethnic or racial group, there are a fair amount of muslims who don't speak it in the south. Hindi is an Indo-Aryan language so all the Northern native speakers have little trouble learning and speaking it because it's like -- Spanish vs. Portuguese vs. Italian
