aren't you a slav?

multiculturalism

austrians should have genocided the provincials for greater stability

Arnold is a pretty cool guy

Nationalism and intense homosexuality

you simply shouldnt be taking land if you have low birthrates
once taken, land should be depopulated of previous owners and populated by settlers willing to reproduce

monoethnic, monoligual, monocultural empires are the only empires worth anything, more peoples = more problems

People don't realize it but that country was relatively underdeveloped beyond couple urban areas. Since the provinces were uncertain holdings they weren't much invested in.

this or at least get rid of hungary 300 years ago

The eternal Anglo and the eternal Russian.

Early pan-Slavism was launched by the Russian Empire as a propaganda to get all similar language speaking populations on their side.
Since Greece was basically an English playground, thru Greece, English have tried spreading such ideas to Austria-Hungary and they were successful. Many of our pan-Slavic 19th century "intellectuals" got their education from Greece.

And once the war destabilized the country, English backed Serbs and put additional pressures thru Italy onto Croatia to join them.
I wouldn't be surprised if I heard next that the Black Hand was funded by the Ang*o dogs.

Multiculturalism. That's why Hitler wanted to clear the Slavs out of Eastern Europe. Empires always crumble and fall, but a nation can sustain itself forever.

Letting Hungarians have a load of special rights for doing very little.

Why are you so desperate to hold on to Kosovo then?
>we promoted pan-slavicism
You're a moron.

panslavism

>implying im personally making policies of this country
really now?

Hitler in Austria was a dumb, rambling retard.
You edgelords made him famous.

>Wants empire
>Can't handle multi ethnic

Multiculturalism

This is very cringe and bluepilled. It all depends on the nation. Austria-Hungary was in many way a pre-national state stuck in far past and political beliefs of majority of its people reflected that. Even afterwards, you could find people thinking Franz Joseph was still their emperor in 1930s Croatia. Widely, nationalism wasn't the problem. Croats, Serbs, Slovenians and Poles were absolutely devoted to the Empire. On the other hand, Czech and Hungarians were not.
The early 20th century was groundbreaking for rights of various peoples in the empire. For example, the Poles had their own national books added to the school curriculum. The general vision was to slowly reform the nation into an empire of federal nationalities.

The problem was of course The Great War. The state in the country by the end was abysmal, many men were dead and all patriots were enslaved in camps and far away from home which, combined with outside pressures left sleazebags who never went to fight for the motherland to take over and dismantle the empire.

You really have. Until you've read our local 19th century prose and poetry written by liberals and reformers you have no right to call anyone stupid.

We regularly failed to modernize our military and bureaucracy. In WW 1 we were a massive burden for the Germans. It would've been better if Germany were able to kill off all French back then.
Also it was dumb as fuck trying to take on Russia.

This unironically

>provincials were loyal
nigga you had whole divisions and battalions switching sides, whole sections of the front didnt even need penetrating, austrian army was on a brink of the civil war so no wonder it got pushed out by a 20 times smaller nation

no, austrians should have simply genocided the provincials and repopulated the land

They messed with wrong guys

>We regularly failed to modernize our military
That's actually 120% the fault of Hungary. Since the Austro-Hungarian compromise the Hungarians started regularly vetoing the military bills in protest. This went on for fifty years making the military obsolete and stuck in a bureaucratic nightmare.
We pride ourselves on helping stop Hungary from leaving Austria in 1948. but their pride was singlehandedly the reason why Austria-Hungary's military fell behind. Not that having a better military would've helped. No way WWI could've been won in the end.

Very few and far between. It happens in every war. The only significant influx of Croats onto the Serbian side was when the prisoners of war at Odessa were forced to join Yugoslav legion on gunpoint.
