Amer has been here for a very long time. He has been playing up the whole 'sympathetic woe is me' card for years. Most people who despise him now used to be somewhat sympathetic to him years ago, and offered to reply to him, give him advice, be somewhat friendly to him. The thing is, he would never follow advice, and when things go wrong in his life because of his own horrible decisions, he never accepts responsibility, he instead blames everyone and anyone else around him, he never considers it could be him at fault. This is the main thing with Amer, he's not a nice person, he's a very toxic one, and pretty emotionally manipulative- he doesn't want 'friends', he wants enablers. He wants attention. Most of the people who hate him for the horrible person he is, don't do it out of blind racism or whatever, it's because time and time again he's shown he isn't someone to be pitied, he's someone to avoid. I hope he really gets comeuppance for his horrible deeds one day

But the other side is people who are immoral, sadistic, harmful are also going to naturally be attracted to things society considers weird or eccentric. I say that as an autist myself. For example I knew a guy who was all into warlock, occultist, pagan shit. He was also a total douchebag with huge anger issues who would routinely talk about his fantasies of mass murder.
