What do you all look for in small companies to determine growth potential? I need some boomers to rain some experience on a young lad and lurking moar won't cut it because nobody talks about this...

How should I go about starting to invest? I just got through my first few months of work as an engineer, so I've got a bit saved up.

I'm worried about a market correction though. Its been a long time since the last one, we cant grow forever, and things are feeling pretty 2007-y.

I'd like to save up enough so I can buy a house once the prices drop.

Petition to add M1 Finance to the list of brokers in the OP of /smg/ threads:

+ lets you make pies of securities and automatically invests your cash into each slice proportional to their percent allocations

DOW is low hanging fruit why not buy some low cost etfs and then let them sit a few years? Even if it crashes I still get some dividends before things start coming back in a decade or two. I prefer the log scale, since you expect some of the biggest companies to have exponential growth. I still think AMZN is overvalued a bit but it's nowhere near as bad as the superexponential growth you saw before the tech bubble crash.
