This is a post you reply to if you want to meet fellow anons from around the world, or to have a respectful discussion about nations/languages/culture!
I've noticed that Jow Forums has become more divisive, we now have threads for one nation exclusively, and honestly, being nice to fellow anons and having respectful conversations with anons from every country is just so much better!
Curious about a nation/their culture? Ask!
Need someone native to help you learn a language? Ask!
Want to teach other anons something about your nation/culture? Go ahead!
please, no bigots, no slurs just friendly conversation!

how would you describe the average person's personality in your country in 2-3 words? i need frens irl and the people in my country aren't interesting
you can't generalize people like that
do you think you're particularly interesting?
>do you think you're particularly interesting?
yes actually. though id don't think other people would see me as interesting since i tend to be quiet
Egocentric, joyful and likes to party, not saying this is bad in anyway + I only know Paris.
Please tell me about your country. Do you live in a big city or in the countryside? Tell me about your hobbies and your family (only if you want to of course).
what makes you interesting?
Fuck you
Fuck you too
And fuck you too
You too, fuck you
Fuck off
Fuck you
FUCK YOU
Fucking kill yourself
I'm based
well for starters i don't like iphones and a lot of my peers have them and use social media alot
I love you all frens
What combination of flowers do you find most beautiful in your locale?
same here
I live in the capital, and I'm sort of shy but I have a cool set of friends! I'm actually really into languages, I'm trying to learn French and Hungarian at the moment! Serbia is not particularly interesting, the people you'll meet the most in high school (which is where I'm at) are the standard 'čoban' or 'gaser' or 'gopnik', and they're sort of rude and very argumentative... I'm sorry I'm rambling shshshs I'm kind of pissed that Monday is tomorrow :(
comment notre pays?
me neither, but being contrarian regarding things like that doesn't automatically make you interesting, no offense. I think you need to look at others more, if you did I'm certain you wouldn't call all your countrymen uninteresting.
I like tulips and hyacinths
what are you guys currently listening to?
hey, no need to be rude!! we're all kind of pissed because Monday's tomorrow, no need to express your anger like that! we're all friens here! :)
Mozart unironically
My classical playlist
You?
>I like tulips and hyacinths
Fantastic taste. Have you taken part in any tulip related festivities in the lowlands?
how did you know I was a girl??
No, only ever been to the Netherlands once with my friends to Amsterdam, and we were interested in other kinds of plants then kek
Because I've seen a Serbian flag post friendly stuff recently and say they're a girl, and that's not too common for Serbians on Jow Forums tbqh
>highschool
What are you planning to study fren ? Also, which degrees are considered good in Serbia and which degrees are considered meme tier ?
Here in the middle east, either you study engineering/medicine or you become a falafel vendor
my Finnish friend actually recommended me this guy, I like it a lot!
youtube.com
Smoke on, Bruder.
I'm planning on studying the prevention and treatment behavioral disorders on the university of defectology, and then study scandinavistics at the uni of phylology!
here phylology is considered meme tear, all though it is a good college!
I like sunflowers!!
what about you, user, what are you planning on?
Any squirrels in Serbia?
>trying to learn French and Hungarian at the moment!
Wow that's cool af! You can be proud french is not an easy language, in fact a lot of french people can't even speak french properly or write without making syntaxical/verb mistakes all the time.
>are the standard 'čoban' or 'gaser' or 'gopnik'
Oh really? I thought they were only a small minority especially in the very poor districts.
>I'm sorry I'm rambling shshshs I'm kind of pissed that Monday is tomorrow :(
Yeah same. I think it's healthy that weekends dont last forever tho as I tend to get really lazy after extended periods of vacation.
>comment notre pays?
If you mean "What do you think of serbia?" then we don't know a lot about you, I know this country from the civil wars in the 1990s we studied in highschool but that's pretty much it.
If you meant "How is your country doing?" well we're fine. The riots are over now so we can have fun on sundays without having to worry of being blocked in districts by the police + broken glass everywhere on the street so that's cool.
THAT'S ADORABLE OMGSH!!!
yeah!! though they're rare in Belgrade, But I still see them and wave at them sometimes!!
>Belgrade
Thoughts on Kumodraž and the Torlak Hill area? Is it hip and fresh?
yeah, It's not easy but I like it, I actually began learning it because of french chansons!
at least they don't have vowel harmony and 15+ cases, lol!
I mean't more like ' what's your country like?'
>I think it's healthy that weekends dont last forever tho as I tend to get really lazy after extended periods of vacation.
yeah, agreed! though I'm generally not as productive as I'd like to be, but we're working on it!!
what about you user? what are your hobbies??
Based
oh Jesus Christ, not kumodraž, please, I knew a blonde cocaine addict from there, that's about it, but I like it, still! I wish to live there one day!
do you know anyone irl that plays Pokemon OP?
noo, sorry :(
no worries :)
Oh, exciting!
One last question. Would you rather spend an evening in Old Town or New Town Belgrade?
The older side!!! That's where all the museums and galleries are!!
also, a lot of caffes and bars, and nice streets to walk on!!
why do you ask? Do you wish to come here?
I like wholesome threads :)
How do other nationals deal with foot fungus?
i have a severe problem once a year, my feet sweat even when they are cold, they just cant stop sweating
and when i work, i have work boots or old sneakers that even if they are hollow, my feet still sweat and create a soggy, dirty and perfect condition for foot mushrooms that fucking itch and hurt when i pour raw oregano extract on them because nothing else can kill the itching
a month later and i get hives rash, it became a tradition now, every year on the same months, either march or april
i do have an option to take heavy medicine but that medicine makes me retarded and slow and forbids me to drive or use heavy machinery which is what i have to do because i work that kind of job
i cant take this anymore
Because you said on another thread that you were a girl learning Finnish, and there must be like 2 serb flags on this board (outside of your designated generals that is)
lolara
koliko godina imas?
that was one of my first posts here, I think!
Zemun and New Belgrade are the comfiest places in entire Serbia
Hopefully one day. Sounds like Old town is the place to go. Looks like it's on a Europass Rail itinerary.
>koliko godina imas?
ne bih da kežem, ali idem u srednju školu :)
how's it going fellow /ex-yu/ flag? Any perticular plans for this week?
preporucio bih ti da se skines sa ove stranice ak si maloljetna
you're welcome to visit anytime bro! Who knows, maybe we'll run into each other!
>what's your country like
I haven't met enough people in enough different places to depict truly france and its people but I'd say that Paris is very different from the rest of france, it's almost a different country on its own. Everyone is in a rush 24/7, everyone is super busy and it's really hard to connect with people (maybe because I'm a turboautist too). I lived half of my life in the countryside, I had some friends here. It was very nice. The air was healthier and we generally had a healthier lifestyle, less junk food etc. France is a very interesting country, the landscapes, the people are so different from one region to another, it's almost a small earth on its own: we have mountains for skiing, the alps, the sea, (small) deserts, big ass forests, medieval castles, I really love this country, you'd have to spend an entire life to explore all of it. If you like medieval stuff, did you know that we are buidling a medieval castle since 1997? It's called the Castle of Guedelon, it's being built by onky using tools and techniques from the middle age, pretty cool huh?
>what are your hobbies??
I like visiting museums and operas, lucky me, I live in Paris so I'm never bored but pretty lonely because tfw no gf and I don't share a lot of interests with my friends. I also go to the gym twice a week since early march and I love cinema. I recently watched Eyes wide shut, I thought it was pretty good but clearly not my favourite Kubrick. Also watched "The net" a korean movie about a NK fisherman getting his net caught in his engine and crosses the border to the south because of the wind, was a cool movie. Finally I watched "The wall", an american movie starring john cena, it was pretty cool too. I also played yakuza kiwami for like 10 hours this week end.
What did you do this weekend?
>vitez na bjelom horsu
njiiiihihiihi
prrrrft
Tell me a reason to visit your country. I don't know nothing about Serbia.
I'm here!
>horsu
ubi se degencino
treba je odmaknut od ovih mjesta dok je jos cista
Wash your toes thoroughly and be sure to rub them a lot with soap. Never sleep with socks and always be sure to dry your feets after your showers. As for your job condition I really don't know what you should do, what did your doc recommend you? Also if you have some kind of workers union here you might want to ask them some help for changing your working conditions or something
Tell me a reason to visit you in Serbia.
mislim da mogu da podnsem bar ružnih reči od incel-a koje nikad nisam upoznala, stvarno ne cenim da me whiteknight-ujete, nisam mentalno zaostala.
Croatia is your favorite nation right?
ne jedi govna
It was a joke! maybe you should learn more about the culture, and google things for yourself, then decide weather our culture interests you! If not, there's not much of a reason, except that I've heard nightlife here is great! There's also couple of great museums, but I don't think it's worth it to fly all the way from Brazil to here :)
I've met a couple of really cool peeps in Croatia, though most people here aren't very fond of Croatia here, and that's unfortunate!
i thought so
ill wait it out until the mushroom dies on its own, the medication doesnt work anyway
because you type like one
I wanted to take a break from shitposting and say that despite whatever I say on this board I actually really admire eastern europeans as they’re a hardy people despite not being in the best circumstances, and their women are gigacute.
keep it up lads and lasses, hang in there xoxo
Ahhh I thought you had have curiosity. Your explanation is very vague. Tell me a specific museum, specific pub and specific place to visit. Plz.
>but I don't think it's worth it to fly all the way from Brazil to here
>implying that I will only visit Serbia in my trip to Europe.
>did you know that we are buidling a medieval castle since 1997? It's called the Castle of Guedelon, it's being built by onky using tools and techniques from the middle age, pretty cool huh?
That's awesome!! I'll write it down for when I visit France
>I like visiting museums and operas, lucky me, I live in Paris so I'm never bored
me too!! though there aren't that many here :(
> I love cinema
me too! I go to an underground cinema here once a week, they only play vintage and actually good movies, which I like! + the ticket is only 150 dinars! so heck yeah, cinema ftw
I didn't watch any of the movies you listed, but you actually seem really interesting and I'd like to get to know you better, If you agree! Do you mind giving me your discord or something?
oh Heck yeah, If you happen to come by, visit these:
>the museum of African art (my favorite)
>the national museum
>Kalemegdan, It's a medieval fortress in the center of Belgrade
>our museum of modern art, it's kind of cool, though not my favorite
>people are very fond of the military museum here, I'm not
>you should visit our medieval churches on the south of Serbia, I liked it! Not sure if you will
> night life: I've heard good things about the club called 'hangar' and a club called 'drugstore' techno parties and what not... I'm not the one to speak on this though, I don't go to parties
that's pretty much it.. you should only come by if you have a good guide and if you have someone to visit here, outside of that, the things listed are pretty much it... it's not a very interesting place, and you can pretty much visit everything in the course of 13 hours... Maybe I just don't know much about our culture, but yeah..
Why is there a museum of African art in Serbia? In France, Britain and to a lesser degree in Germany there are such museums for foreign art that was taken during colonialism. How did the African art get to Serbia?
It was Tito's personal collection
nah, just kidding, it wasn't tito's but it was somebody's personal collection, and I'm really glad it exists!! It's beautiful, I really like it, It's my happy place !! :)
has anyone ever mistakenly called your country "siberia"? i know one person irl who has
What is your job?
oh yeah, all the time!
But it's okay, I'm not the best at geography either shshshsh
Are there any serbian/yugoslav movies that everybody and their grandma's cat have seen and quote regularly?
i highly doubt you have, but have you ever heard of this game?
'maratonci trče počasni krug' !!! it's a great movie, I suggest you watch it
I notice you're Estonian, I wish to visit Estonia as soon as possible!! I've only watched 'hukkund allpinisti hotel' when it comes to Estonian cinematoraphy, I'm not the most educated, though, can you recommend me something?
Why do you have so many exclamation marks when typing in English?
Also I met a Serbian girl here in Finland once. She was pretty dope.
Is this a joke or something?? of course I have!!
Many thanks to recommend these places and your patience to tell them. Sorry to be very direct to you, we are.... Actually... I'm not very polite in some aspects. Sorry for that.
Maybe I will tell some interesting museums and places in Brazil. But Brazil is not like Europe, is very unsafe here.
>it's not a very interesting place
Serbia is not interesting? For an indian like me, This place is very fascinating.
because I'm generally cheery and I want people to know it!!
I met a Finnish guy on Jow Forums, I like the language and the music!
Kippis!!
wait, seriously!? i thought everyone forgot about Plants vs Zombies
also, what are your opinions on this movie? where can i watch/buy a version of that's in bosnian or serbian with english subtitles?
Ouhh my god. I remember I got this game on my 9th birthday, it was so nice.
I believe you can find the game on your phone as well now, so if you want to replay, you can.
You seem pretty autistic (in a good way) either those exclamation marks :)
Also, while I do live in Finland, I am not Finnish. I am RVSSIAN
I'm very flattered you find my country interesting!
I don't wish to visit it any time soon, I'm just very paranoid that I'll get robbed tbqh, but I might, I met so many nice people from Brazil!
>Sorry to be very direct to you, we are.... Actually... I'm not very polite in some aspects. Sorry for that.
I respect being Direct and in no way are you unkind or not polite! :)
Hope you guys have a nice week next week
egh.. thank you.. I guess??
Also, that's adorable!! Those are one of my favorite nations!!
How do you feel about tourists in BRASIL? And do people really want them there that much?
you too, English bro!
are computer keyboards in serbia the same as russian or bulgarian keyboards since they are all languages that use the cyrillic script? assuming you bought your computer in serbia?
you too m8
gonna be my first week in a new city living on my own
I don't usually post that much, but your energy actually made me want to post a lot in this thread. Don't know why, but thanks. I feel better somehow because of a couple of pixels on the screen.
it's similar, though Russians and Bulgarians have the following characters we don't:
Йй Щщ Ыы Юю Яя Ёё Ъъ Ьь
we also have the character: J ј
that Russians don't
Good luck man, hope things work out well for you
Oh dear, I'll have a huge exam that I've been preparing for a month in Tuesday. I'll be a queen's tit if I don't make it.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, lad.
I'm glad!!
I've actually noticed, about Finnish guys, they seem very distant, formal, and cold, but when you actually get to know them, they're qts and quite sweet!
maybe that's just my experience!!!
Also, it's not just a couple of pixels on the screen, It's somebody's personality and manner of talking that made you feel something, and that's wonderful and sweet!!
good luck on your exam, user!!
>how do you feel about tourists in BRAZIL
I love it. I and us love foreign people. For real.
>and do people really want them there that much?
Yeap. Why do you ask that question? Because of our president new policy? To allow americans and others to come to brazil without visa?
But my weekend's over in an hour Finbro!
Good luck on your exam, go smash that
