This book tells you basically to listen to everybody. Let them talk about themselves, etc. You're never going to gather respect and attention without a big mouth. If you hardly talk, you will be forgotten. Seems to me this book teaches you how to suck up to Chad and/or be his loyal sidekick buddy

The exact opposite. Being a yes man will mean people will push boundaries and try to see where they can get to next with you and if they can take advantage of you. Self-help books like these rarely help. Self-help books being high on the list on best sellers just tell us what people in the west desperate need - companionship, community, friendship and deep relationships.
Turn back to Christ if you want those. You're not going to get it from some self-serving book that only wants you to be a beta cuck so you can be fully exploited by the elites.
