Pretty much every Spanish colony eventually revolted

>Pretty much every Spanish colony eventually revolted
>Puerto Rico and a few other islands were loyal to end
Why? Did the Spanish treat them better than everyone else or something?

I believe they were criollo ethnostates at some point.

Like half of the population were canarian and galician migrants.
Basically this

What's a criollo?

>criollo ethnostates

Really? Then why now they look mestizos and mulatos and their culture is so different to the Spanish culture?

The immigrants are mostly poor blacks and whatnot.

Because now they are Americans

You do not need to be a criollo to defend the glorious Spanish empire. Actually, the so-called "libertadores" used to be criollos.

Full spanish born in the colonies.
They were the ones who revolted and still rule them.

Do hamburgers make you a mutt or what?

Did the blacks start having children as rabbits in the 19 century?

They look the same in the island.

This guy is the idiot that caused the American-Filipino War. I hope all of those dead Americans and Filipinos was worth it.
Ah, that makes sense.

Basically WASPS but more nepotistic, oligarchic and corrupt.

>This guy is the idiot that caused the American-Filipino War because he did not accept the American occupation.

Very logical.

It's your country'd fault too. Instead of dealing with them you dumped them on us. Also, we had no idea what to do with them. He was impatient and revolted instead of waiting to find out what we would do.

Wasn't Cuba trying to get independence?

Yes. First they wanted to be more autonomous, but later they demanded full independence, which caused the war. Then Americans got in

We won the first war in Cuba, then there was another war in which the United States participated to defend their own interests on the island and that was the war that we lost.

Cuba used to be really Spanish, pretty much like a second Canarias. But then they started moving to Miami en masse and only the poorfags staid, most of them being niggas. Add 60 years of racemixing and you have literally Jamaica.

Puerto Rico was never that Spanish.

If you didn't occupy us there would be no war.

The other way around, the criollos were rebelling everywhere. Spain had the support of the poor, and the natives and mestizos in general, which is why Peru (I think) became the royalist stronghold in the independence wars.

>It's your country's fault that we invaded you

We were just deciding if we should annex the country, make it a territory, and or ensure your sovereignty. In the ended, America just ended up building schools and other infrastructure.
We didn't invade the Philippines. They attacked Americans stationed there. Imagine if armed Germans attacked an American base.

>They attacked Americans stationed there
>On the evening of February 4, Private William W. Grayson—a sentry of the 1st Nebraska Volunteer Infantry Regiment[58]—fired the first shots of the war at the corner of Sociego and Silencio Streets,[59] in Santa Mesa.
>Upon opening fire, Grayson killed a Filipino lieutenant and another Filipino soldier;[58] Filipino historians maintain that the slain soldiers were unarmed.[60] This action triggered the 1899 Battle of Manila.
>Cleetus in charge of history

There wouldn't be war if you left us alone to our own devices.
