There wasn't even only one algorithm, an other one was developed in a university in Germany, and they are not pushing for glory on twitter.
Plus most of the work was operating the telescopes with the right precision and coordination, the algorithm was the easy part.
And if we talk budget, the main contributor was the EU, not America.

No they don't. What matters is who developed the algorithm and the general logic behind it, not who wrote the code for it.

Using that same logic, in my office the best programmer is the manager who uploads lists of client phone numbers, new prices and so on. It is the most lines, after all, even if he doesn't program at all.
