>A damning report by Swedish otolaryngologists have concluded that there isn't a single Finnish achievement that can't be attributed to Sweden or Russia. >The report goes onto state that "without Sweden, Finland has the same intellectual output as a carpark."
>was the product of finns who larped as swedes fixed that for u YTboy, not that i have any need for those gugs "achievements"
Ian Jones
there was some genetic study which showed that fenno-swedes are 50% swedish
Wyatt Martin
Maybe a few generations ago. These days half of them have Finnish lastnames.
Hunter Gutierrez
as i said, larpers. one drop rule, you're either finnish or not.
Leo Robinson
finnish posters make ten threads about themselves every day
Dylan Collins
2/3 of the founders of Rovio entertainment are fenno-swedes.
Jayden James
>one drop rule, you're either finnish or not. i am from saint petersburg tho... i definitely have at least some finnish ancestry
Chase Ramirez

Could someone with a knowledge of the history and culture of the Nordic lands please explain to me, a non-initiate, this conflict between Finland and Sweden, and the whole deal with those poor apu's being enslaved by Swedish chad-Viking Pepe?
Luis Turner
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Finland, is in fact, Sweden/Finland, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Sweden plus Finland. Finland is not a country unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning Swedish system made useful by the Swedish religion, system of government and Fenno-Swede elite comprising a full country as defined by the UN.
Many Jow Forums posters interact with a modified version of the Swedish nation every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of Sweden which occupies Lapland and Österland is often called "Finland", and many of its citizens are not aware that it is basically the Swedish nation, developed by the Swedish Kings.
There really are Finns, and these people do live there, but they’re just a part of the country. Finns are the proletariat: the worker bees of the country that gather the resources and work in the businesses that Swedes run. The Finns are an essential part of the country, but useless by themselves; they can only function in the context of the Swedish system. Finns are normally used to do manual labor under Swedish supervision: the whole country is basically Sweden with Finns added, or Sweden-Finland. All the so-called "Finnish" accomplishments are really accomplishments of Sweden/Finland.
>be finland >chill in peace and defend your land for hundreds of years from hill forts and such, trading things like fur for things like swords and shit >be scandinavia >ooga booga around europe trading and sometimes pillaging towns, founding kangdoms and bringing knowledge back home >get eventually christianized >with superior technology from south and some help go on crusades to the north-east to convert people >be sweden >integrate finland into your country >forbid the indigenous religion of the land, and build churches on the old worshiping sites >establish yourself as the ruling class, and swedish as the official language, with no place for finnish >be a finnish citizen >want to move up the social ladder >adopt swedish because it's the official language and the key to any prestigious job, meaning that specifically the upper classes of the country adopted swedish, while the peasants stuck with finnish >hundreds of years later on a korean crochet site >''lmao why so many famous finns actually swedes''
David Stewart
That's a really long-winded way of asserting the superiority of Swedish culture.
Nolan Reyes
>superior technology A lie. We had the same technology as you, but you had no competent commanders nor tribal unity. It's an unfair comparison because the swedish crusaders were veterans of many wars already.
Luis Gomez
How could a bunch of tribes have the same level of technology as an organized kingdom with better ties to the South?
Henry Long
Thankyou, Finanon. Now if only someone would explain those Roy Andersson films to me...
Colton Cruz
Finns can't function well in a civilization as a whole, they can't even speak the language of the civilized people becuase of the uralic language that their mongoloid fathers gave them. I challenge all of you to research rally english and report back, with how genious and amazing and high IQ finns really are.
Nolan Sanders
>organized kingdom Big fallacy. We were a newly formed kingdom of united warring tribes that were barely held together. We had the same level of ironwork and smithing as you, so it's not like we had machine guns and you had sticks.
Mason White
I wasn't implying a huge gap, more like you probably had more and better swords, and things like that. But fine, it still doesn't change the other things though.
Jaxson Cooper
You conveniently forgot to mention that a large part of the less influencial finland swedes, the Ostrobothnians, are descended from Swedish settlers from the 13th century and today form an ethnic group that is a mix of swedish and finnish.
Knowing Swedish by itself gave you more opportunities in a country called Sweden than not knowing it, big surprise. Also them being a mix of Finns and Swedes doesn't really make them any different from even most Western Finns, except just in the language they speak. The fact is that most of those Swedish speakers that you guys have a big boner for defending are just Finns that adopted the language because it was advantageous, and your cherry picked example doesn't change that.
David Jones
Finnish iron was refined from lake and bog ore. There also was domestic sword production.
Sebastian Roberts
In the big cities, in Helsinki and such, sure. Ostrobothnians however speak a very old version of Swedish and have stronger genetic ties to Sweden than they do to Finland.
>The principal component analysis clearly separated the Finnish regions and Eastern and Western counties from the Swedish as well as the Finnish regions and counties from each other...Geneland showed three clusters (Figure 3B), roughly corresponding to Sweden, Eastern Finland and Western Finland. Thus, Geneland was able to correctly identify the country of origin of the individuals despite the lower quality of the Swedish data.
>Interestingly, the county-level PCA...and Geneland...placed the Finnish subpopulation of Swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia closest to Sweden. This minority population originates from the 13th century, when Swedish settlers inhabited areas of coastal Finland...Our result is in congruence with earlier studies where intermediate allele frequencies between Finns and Swedes have been observed in the Swedish speaking Finns.
It doesn't make a big difference, but Ostrobothnian Finland Swedes are closer to Sweden than they are to Finland in terms of genetics, culture and history. Make of that what you will. I'm not trying to attack Finland here, just interested in facts.
Nolan Ramirez
I never said there was no domestic sword production, it was just an example. Finland did import Ulfberht swords.
Nicholas Hall
>are descended from Swedish settlers from the 13th century still no genetic evidence of this
Jose Reyes
Well Ostrobothnia isn't exactly a region well known for producing well known famous people, it's known for producing stabbings, so I don't know what the point of that was in the first place when I was clearly talking about the patterns happening in South-Western Finland, aka. the part that mattered at the time. What I make of that is that, like I said, your cherry picked example doesn't negate the larger trend of the time.
Carson Taylor
so who ends up getting her?
Angel Flores
Aside from the part about the curious case of Swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia I agree with what you said. Ostrobothnia has the highest amount of stabbings per capita in Europe, doesn't it?
Elijah Parker
>stronger genetic ties to Sweden than they do to Finland. this doesn’t prove that they descend from swedish settlers, finns were very tight with goths with even the finnish word for mother being derived from gothic
Isaiah Collins
Yes, you did. Stop posting. From now on don't ever post or even write anywhere a single word, ok?
