I get that. It was just the most recent historic moment when Slovenia could have received it. If I had lived back then I would have unironically supported Slovenia getting Trst and Italy losing as much land as possible. South Tyrol to Austria, Aoste to France, independent Sicily... Italians fully deserved that after what they did to Romania in 1940 together with Germany and all their war crimes and occupations in other countries. People forget that after WWI Italy was a destabilizing factor that supported revanchism and WWI butthurt instead of focusing on rebuilding and solidifying Europe.
