my nearby library has the same book as you posted, l think there are another one specializing in the French history consisting of 3 volumes each of which has more than 500p. l tried reading it but it was such a pain in my ass so l gave it up at the end of the day. l think "フランス史十講" is a good introductory book.

It's not a well known fact, but during the industrial revolution the most important industry in Limoges was not porcelain but shoemaking. The reason for that is Limousin is a big cattle farming region and has a lot of oak trees forests that provide the tannic materials needed for leatherwork. This industry died though, and now only one shoemaker still exist by doing extremely high quality luxury products (they're the shoemaker for the président, as an example).
It's also in this region that all the wine barrels were made, as the tannic matter from oak trees is needed for winemaking.

They are fine. I have no complaint. They have a great history, culture and food. We mock then for their disastrous fighting in WW2 and they handed us the shitpile that was Vietnam but they along with the British probably have the only competent and experienced militaries in Europe capable of force projection.
