It's not exactly made in India because of labour costs.
It is because American medicine is just way too expensive for people in poorer countries to afford, so India makes newer formulations and sells them at a very low price, a price that is affordable for all people.
My country is pretty bad when it comes to most affairs but this is one thing I do appreciate about it. Medicine should be affordable for all.

If there is one thing you can be certain in USA, its lawyers. If they could sue, lobby for new laws or generally prevent poor people from getting medicine from somebody else, they would already do it.
Only in USA the health insurance company will tell you that you were ill before you entered the contract or outright refuse to pay and hope you will die sooner before the court will order them to pay.

We do get sued. The USA forbids importing Indian medicine so their patients come to our hospitals. So, they always visit either Delhi AIIMS or hospitals here in Chennai. Aravind Eye Care provides free or inexpensive surgeries to the poor and still manage to make profit, they have case studies on it in universities in the UK. Medical tourism is profitable since they come here from all over the world, Pakistan included.
Healthcare is really inexpensive but it still isn’t enough since majority of the population, the lower middle class especially, is still way poor to afford it. There are doctors in private hospitals who are generous enough to not take money for these patients. It’s still a mess.

The achievements and progress that the Modi government made were all carried over from the previous government. There were few good things like the UPI and Aadhar which only Modi implemented but it just wasn’t enough for center right people like me to vote for him again. Even Marathi people are done with the BJP.
Congress will win majority in a hung parliament. Some Brahmin or upper caste Hindu will be the PM other than Rahul.
