France has been close to 2 for a good part of the decade. While poor eastern and southern european countries have had abysmal fertility. Even some poor asian countries like thailand have much lower birth rates.

it not even a class thing. It's just that there are hardly any full time job available anymore. It takes month of job applications to even get an interview.
I'm 20 right and the only people i know with full time jobs are either people in the military or managed to get an apprenticeship which is the only way you can learn a trade here. Pretty much unless you have a clear career path that you legitimately want to do from 16 and get lucky its just not realistic that you'll be in an economic position to have kids even at 30. And very few people have girlfriends either.
