I didn't care for it. Admittedly there hasn't been much revealed about the WW but I didn't think they were the type to "send a message" with weird horror movie style symbolism. I didn't understand where they were either, that the night king would know to leave one for them anyway.

The problem with the acting is that they've systematically killed off the majority of the accomplished lead actors in favour of overgrown child actors (and Emilia Clarke) in the main roles and B-tier actors in B-tier roles. Even competent actors in main roles like the Lannisters are left drifting because of increasing uncertainty and irrelevance for their characters.
The best acting will come in the service of stupid plotlines (Lannisters) and wink-wink hamming it up from the formerly tertiary characters who became fan-favourites because of being more developed by the books and/or good casting (eg: Jorah, Hound, red haired Wildling guy, etc).

While this is true (rugby being proof), in reality soccer is much of a West Brit sport to the point of it undermining Irish culture. The vast majority of Irish soccer fans follow the same clubs as their British counterparts, act the same way, and often have an uncomfortably close affinity for all things British (except when the Irish soccer team are playing England of course).

And then there's the fact that soccer is an exceptionally boring sport to watch.
