I can't think of a more reliable website than wikipedia.
I used to do that all the time and still occasionally do.
Why is the "source" so important? Something is either factual or it's not. Who gives a fuck where it's from.

and then what? She would have to discredit the actually proper sources. If you are actually researching something you will obviously go deeper into the subject, but wikipedia is a perfectly fine starting point for anything outside your expertise.
