Asian slaves

I see no similarity its just a meme

Portugal at 0.9%, they brought home Japanese slaves, bred with them... hence Portugese have very wide

faces

t. Дмитpий пoпoвич

I'm going to make them wider.

what's your point. i am russian and i see no similarity either. retarded Jow Forums memes.

listen to Portuguese people speaking
you will hear much similarities in the way you pronounce things

We got populated by Suebis
Spaniards got populated by Visigoths

I confirm we have very wide.

As to our muffled russian like accent, i have no idea.

Also Basques tend to have Asian faces unlike Spaniards who are more narrow faced like Arabs

What do you get out of making this bullshit maps up?

I didn't make it, geneticist nerds compiled it from this data and posted it on several forums docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1x8pm8sVcHqceiNFJMO082kxaBF5ePr4__bAK05VQRFw/edit#gid=62882571

they aren't even similar, but I see how they might sound similar to someone who doesn't know either language! :)

Is this a new retarded meme, right?

>meme
But it's true
They both have that distinct "sh" and s sound like in the words "pleasure" and "Asia" that give it a Slavic sound.
And they both have a tendency to speak as if they're mumbling.

Portuguese always get offended by me when I say that their language is messing with my head because I hear it as a person trying to speak russian but can't comprehend the words.

I don't get offended.
I find it fun that Portuguese doesn't sound like other romance languages.
I spend my time making wild theories as to why this is the case.

please share these theories brat-user

they sound a bit more french in my ears

watch some retard try to argue that our language sounds like the vid related. it's true, it's a orcish language

youtube.com/watch?v=scDhb6DNhD0

Our geographic location isolated us from contact with the wider romance speaker world, which allowed us to keep the native phonetics.

It could also have been that romanization was made by speakers of latin that themselves were not originally latin speakers. Auxilia was usually garrisoned away from their native homes and Lusitania could have romanized by foreign auxilia instead of Romans.

In uni I studied Portuguese for a year. When I heard European Portuguese being spoken I thought it sounded like a Russian speaking Spanish, and at that time I didn't know that was a meme.

I think it's some kind of retarded meme

You fucker never heard a russian speaking

Pure coincidence

have portuguese lessons

Portuguese it is let's say a more cold language, in relation to spanish or italian, but just that

>Finland higher than Turkey
kek

It's very old though so it doesn't take into account more Asian DNA that was hidden in a component called ANE, I think Turkey might be higher actually, even though Finns end up at around 8-10%

gud

Why did Spaniards end up sounding like Greeks instead of Portuguese? It's not like there's a ton of similar languages around theirs either. Most Iberian languages sound closer to ours than theirs.

It's way older than that, and we don't sound Germanic, we sound Slavic (well, Celtic or pre-Celtic might be a better approximation).

>which allowed us to keep the native phonetics.
Isn't slavic supposed to be the most phonetically conservative branch of the indo-european family? Maybe we just kept the general original sound.

>(well, Celtic or pre-Celtic might be a better approximation)

Probably this

We (incl. Galicians) had way more celtic influence and were generally harder to reach from the Roman side.

Portuguese sounds like Russian to me but I can't understand a word.

The accent sounds similar but the language itself is closer to polish.

what the fuck is this retarded map
you're autistic

good vid, interesting

that place where she is seems confy

Is the third time one retard that do not speak Portuguese nor Russian create a thread like this. NO cause your shit ears make you make a idiotic comparison that don not make the languages related.

PT-PT yes, and the African a little bit, you guys cut the words in a abrupt way. Brazilian-PT in the other hand is more "happy".
