I'm planning on holding but I was really hoping for a nice pop when the ER came out.

I plan on quitting my job when I start my Upper Divisionals in uni this time next year (doing EE/CE, practically a pure math/applied calculus major, going to need all the time in the world to do my work well.)
I want to have some form of passive income, no matter how minute. So I've been thinking of investing in high-div-yield corporations or ETFs. Assuming the market doesn't shit itself between now and then, what is going to be my best bet? Buy a bunch of shares of a few different high-yield ETFs, or diversify with a bunch of high yield corporations, even though it'll cut into my earnings?
also, what ETFs/Corps would you all recommend for divs? I'm already in ATT. It's probably the most affordable aristocrat ATM.

Does anyone else dab when they make a dollar?

i like $DIV personally

I'm in SCHD myself. Not a lot of volatility, but it's a good long term bet.
Zachary Smith
assuming the market doesnt shit itself your best bet is to buy SPY and sell a little bit each year
Xavier Morales
T and VZ are the most based divs possible. If you want a obscure small cap, WLKP is delicious
Jack Gray
eh, SCHD is like 50bp higher yield than the S&P. be a man and buy $MORL

Who else excited for Intel to shit the bed tonight?
Lucas Green
consider HIHO, ADES, JE and WLKP for smal cap divs. I'm going to get one of each once I complete my T and VZ buys

not even remotely true No income investor gets exicted about 1 penny increase per year Buy GIS and KRAFT and Citibank too
Said the twat who was posting screenshots all last night
Thomas Price
GIS and KRAFT have too much debt, citi is a low div. Sad

>monthly 7.04 divs >only $25 a share ok that's insane what's the drawback
I'll buy more T since it's cheap af right now. I'll look into VZ too
SCHD seems expensive for what I could get
I own GIS too, I might buy more of them, but they also have some debt to explain
while not a bad idea for when I graduate, I really don't have a lot to work with and SPY is way too expensive for me as it is. And also, not to invoke the be*r word, but I have a strong belief there's a correction on the horizon sometime soon.
>I have a strong belief there's a correction on the horizon sometime soon. then why did you say "assuming the market doesnt shit the bed?" and how poor are you that you cant buy 4 shares of spy and sell 1 each year?
if you have a "strong belief" that there's a correction, just buy bonds and be done with it.
From wikipedia On July 2, Helios and Matheson Analytics filed to raise $1.2 billion to keep MoviePass solvent. They filed to sell off debt and securities. Christ sounds like the company is a real shit show.

>A little over a year ago I added $1000 extra to my account, agonizing over weither to buy GOOG@$980 a share, or AMZN@$989 a share
Better decision that 2 years ago when I bought $800 in stocks instead of BTC@$800 a coin
