My family members are based
I typically spend time with all of them, mostly with me mum and dad desu.

I dispise my cousins and uncles/aunties though, for some reason theyre all degenerates and jobless.

Me too kek. Mom is Russian, Dad is Korean, they havent visited their relatives/home countries in decades.

Massive, in general at least 20 people gather, although during the local festivities it can reach 70. I use to hang with my cousins and I don't avoid anyone.

We just drink and usually go to a restaurant or something. It's pretty boring.

They amount on the same thing, a huge meal and loads of alcohol
Usually its for religious holidays such as Slava, Christmas, Easter, birth, engagement, pregnancy, little Christmas, New Years eve, old New Years eve, village Slava, Muslim holidays if invited
its usually a whole roasted pig or lamb, soup, cabbage rolls, cheese pie, Christmas bread, corn/lard mush, salads and any kind of alcohol you want
everyone pretends to not hate each other and discussions and debates vary from ordinary shit, memories to politics and whatnot
Rarely are there fights or tensions, maybe some passive aggressive shit but nothing overly dramatic
at least in my experience
I liked to hang out with grandpa but he died, so now i like to hang out with grandma
I try to avoid my parents

Chi here. Family gatherings are huge and loud af. Don’t have as much as alcohol as the typical latino family since half of my family is super Christian. The women usually go to the kitchen to do all the cooking, while the men wait in the living room watching soccer or something. I tend to hang out with my cousins but I also like joining the main area since hearing my parents, uncles and aunts debate each other and gossip is fun. We never have fights break out since no one is ever really drunk. Although there’s tidbits of passive aggressiveness and bitchiness sometimes. I also have that one uncle that brings his new bimbo gf along and pretends not to hear when my grandma asks him if he ever plans to get married.

Whereabouts are you from user?

Me and most of my people live in and around Dalarna, some in Jämtland and Värmland.

I mostly hang out with my mother's family, since my father stopped visiting his after his mother died, so it's pretty awkward on the rare occasions that I go there.
I generally get along with my mother's family although everyone in my family including myself have avoided a certain uncle wherever he gets too drunk. He doesn't do anything crazy, he just starts talking very loudly and make awkward conversations.

I thought only third world nations like mine had 10+ family, but fuck, your family is bigger than mine.

Mine are similar, add a lot of tobacco too (I'm Iranian), we never have fights except sometimes between young children.

My family is about 50/50 on atheist and people who aren't religious, but believe in some sort of god. Most persian diaspora aren't particularly religious, and those that are drop it eventually (from my experience).

My parents have been estranged from 90% of our extended family for years. All up my parents have like 15 siblings. I have one auntie and uncle I like, and their son's family is pretty cool, but aside from that I don't plan to see any of them ever again except at my parent's funerals. Heavy presence of schizophrenia and general mental disorders makes me stay very well away from them.

anyway I am not east german. I am volga german, my family returned to germany when the soviet union fell. its funny because technically I have kazakh citizenship wich is why I will never go there. they dont accept dual citizenship, renouncing costs money and I am male and old enough to be conscripted to mandatory military service.

Well I have 4 older brothers and a younger sister.

Well, my great grandma is still alive at 102 years old. I think she's the oldest living relative we have. And my older brother just had a daughter last week so she's the youngest.
