Oklahoman here. We have them often but 70% of major cities are built in places not affected by tornadoes (or very rarely hit).

Also, we like to get drunk and watch them. If we die we might as well die playing Tornado drinking games.

Dont you have a hole to run into when its tornado time?
Id build a tornado hole first then put a decoy house on top of it, make it out of plywood and plastic so its easy to resemble but never use it much, mostly dig the hole deeper and make rooms there
people have been living in those tornado areas for so long, why didnt anyone think of building underground instead of overground

The storms rarely last more than a few hours, there's no real need to have plumbing in shelters you'd rarely if ever use
