How come Korea is becoming so much more culturally dominant in the world than Japan? Every asiaboo I know loves Korean culture, food, fashion, music and movies while only fat weebs and other social rejects have the same open love for Japanese culture. Everybody talks about when they're going to go to Korea now, despite the constant threats of war. Korea just seems so much cooler than Japan.
Koreans just surpassed Japs in cultural “significance” since westerners sucked Japanese dick since the 80’s (and vice versa) now they think that Korean culture is a “new frontier” where they can express themselves.

it's their government policy to export their music and so they don't have enough domestic market
Jackson Allen
I keep seeing people say this the only thing people say in defence of it is that 'kpop is popular'
I don't know a single person who likes it, and aren't they just boybands for teenage girls? It's not like Japan is as big a thing as it was, but music is essentially the only thing people know about Korea apart from maybe food if you're in a big city
>American music companies push for an alternative because their domestic artists get too expensive >push marketing into gullible teenage girls >they buy that shit like a weeb does another addition of his manga and Nintendo figurine >management and Korean government laughs and swims in cash >retarded leaf thinks Korea has any cultural significance
Blake Johnson
>retarded leaf thinks Korea has any cultural significance holy shit that jealous rage. They have more cultural significance than Germany ever will. And they've accomplished that with a much smaller population and completely alien language/culture
>Hwabyeong or Hwabyung is a [1] somatization disorder, a mental illness which arises when people are unable to confront their anger as a result of conditions which they perceive to be unfair.[2] Hwabyung is a colloquial and somewhat inaccurate name, as it refers to the etiology of the disorder rather than its symptoms or apparent characteristics. Hwabyung is similar to Amuk. Hwabyung is known as a culture-bound syndrome.[3]
The word hwabyung is composed of hwa (the Chinese-Korean word for "fire" which can also contextually mean "anger") and byung (the Chinese-Korean word for "syndrome" or "illness").[4] It may also be called ulhwabyeong (鬱火病), literally "depression anger illness". In one survey, 4.1% of the general population in a rural area in Korea were reported as having hwabyung.[3]
