I for one enjoy the show. And I love the books. One thing everyone should know by know is that movies/shows never reach the same level as the books. I'm ok with that and have watched through all seasons 3-4 times.

I wasn't a huge fan in the beginning. Too much talking. But after season 3 it started getting good. Now it's great. Season 8 seems to be a action packed final season and I love it.
