What are your reasons?
We all have that No.1 project in which we deeply believe in because $$$ isn’t a big issue with high quality projects, riiight?
$$$ SKY is the one $$$
U r project biggest challenge is to attract investors and real users
not having a no. 1 project BUT anything built around good incentives can get top listed. win/win
Bitcoin
Running my Minecraft server on this. It pays dividends in diamonds, fucking epic win.
Everything tech related.
Anything which makes my life easier is a no. 1 for me.
I like Skycoin and when I think of it my mind goes to tech and how they sell their product. You are going to notice that most of sky rhetorics is about being better than btc & eth. This strategy is smart for more reasons:
1. Users can relate
2. Unsatisfied btc & eth users are getting an alternative
3. Sky premises are based on both public and private findings
4. Strong biz plan with multiple layers
5. Newest technology ever made, 3rd generation blocks & coin
My reasons
Sky has a story and a long term vision. And I like that they don't aim on fast wins, but try to create a whole infrastructure and app-suite.
Look around at all the crypto projects, see how many erc20 tokens there are. They have only managed to show their utilization of existing technology and have not proven the ability to innovate. Look at the various coins around, and see that they also are either code forks of bitcoin or forks of forks. Again, this is lacking in innovation. Only projects like Skycoin that really move the technology forward have a chance in the long term. All other projects are pump and dump scams.
As a completion- Skycoin is building a completely decentralized internet that is not run by ISPs, but by IoT devices, making telecom providers like Comcast, ISPs who can control bandwith, cost, net neutrality, filters, access etc. obsolete and completely decentralize them.
How is it considered decentralized when all nodes are reliant on the bandwidth provided by the very ISPs you are trying to escape?
for me it was find the project with the deepest hidden motives and the biggest focus on fundamentals. It was skycoin (why i clicked on this tread tbdesu). Skycoin is missing the middle ground, which is why everyone's surface analysis initially concludes it as a scam, but the work is getting done in real ways and the project (well, set of projects) is the logical and inevitable culmination of the technology we're working with (applied cryptography).
Even in the event that skycoin ultimately fails, if you (or I) can grasp as much of what they're working on as possible, that knowledge will be the best lead to the successor.
they aren't. utilizing what exists is not the same as being dependent on. Think of the opposite of what you're saying . . . is that even possible? (It's not).
Ok, I got you ty!
Unfoundedd assumption. ISPs only service the last mile between the fiberoptic backbone and the end user. ISP's are parasitic companies that create little to no value for human society. Skywire will disintermediate this gap, going straight from local mesh networks into existing transatlantic fiber cables by having antenna connections plus nodes stationed in colocation centers. The global telecommunications infrastructure is owned by centralized backhaul providers, but those are actually legitimate companies that do not yet deserve destruction.
read again.
>decentralized internet that is NOT run by ISPs, but by IoT devices
By controlling the badwidth wouldn't they infact truly control everything? They could just charge a lot more for using the bandwidth if they detect certain traffic?
Also, backhaul service is not the level where censorship is implemented. Any attempt to exert policy over this infrastructure will cause a great deal of global political friction. New international treaties to adapt to this change will take decades.
It just makes me wonder that if we think skywire/coin could truly start something that would get passed the control of the isp's/government when they would just hide behind security like terrorism, drugs, etc... isp's have the money to lobby to the government. It is like the crypto currency itself if it truly ever threatened the fiat of a country wouldn't they just pass a law not allowing any place to accept it for goods and or services and cashing out in banks. So one stroke of the pen could kill it all, etc... I am just playing devils advocate to get your guys take on it all.
I am trying to get your argument but it is pretty hard for me. Are you saying that the governments can get involved and ban everything because decentralization is dangerous?
Sky does not charge bandwidth. I am. Holding a skyminer makes me my own ISP and my neighbor's, if he would want to connect to my nodes. I get paid by my neighbor in skycoin.
Not a very realistic scenario. General public adoption of Skywire will be slow. Most of the Skywire adoption will be from businesses. ISP's will continue doing business as usual until its too late.
But you pay your ISP to connect to the net?
I don't think it would be very realistic for the ISPs to fall asleep and lose money while kids build machines in their garages to take over.
Yea it's supposed to be used by anyone. Either normal ppl or companies
The challenge is to get em in. With all parties involved u can get anything started. Companies can get private network with some special tech dedicated to em
Nope. The ISP is used only in this phase I and the miners runs privately on it.
ISP will get out the scene in Phase II when users can put WIFI anntenas on their roof and connect the skyminer to it using a cable. Like a meshnetwork
Basically that's how SKY should make profit - by selling the products and once I get those everything else should be my profit
8 nodes = 1 gigabit/s encrypted net
ISP's make more money in the short term by sitting on their ass. Adoption accelerates after the tipping point is reached, not before. History supports this view.
So we will all use wifi going across the country or world for access just to feel good that the ISPs are not out of the picture?
I agree with you.
Hi synth how's it going? What do you think about link?
This is not Synth. Link should consider building on Skyledger.
it's not about isp itself but about their approach to users. selling data, no privacy, giving privilege for their own interest using users personal datas. Sounds right to you?
The lambo soon, is my reason...$$
fuck normieez and their shitty deals not caring about people. they leave poor countries without access to net cause it z not profitable, let's retore faith in humanity, sky this is on you!
sending wifi signal from my home 30 km it's a cool thought, praying for it to happen
That's a lie
My thoughts exactly!
Lmao this the most obviously cringe shill thread I've ever seen.
Daily reminder that Skycoin is a scam and Synth a mythomaniac.
>obviously cringe
t. affluent teen nigger, where did you come from?
