I'm not kidding. I'm an Anglophone transplant in Montreal. Just got a new apartment in Rosemont and holy fuck these are literally the trashiest people I've ever encountered in my life. Rural Americans don't even come close, and I say that as someone who spent six months living in Florida and another three months living in Pennsyltucky. For one thing, they all sound like American hicks speaking French. The girls are mostly wiggers who dress in horribly gaudy clothing. The men are weak as hell. Also most of the girls in their mid-20s whom I've encountered are already single moms. My neighbourhood is entirely made up of imitation designer brand shops, sports bars, and fake-ass "French" boulangeries where the croissants alone can give you diabetes.
The only thing keeping me here is the low cost of living. Vancouver is a nightmare in terms of expenses.
Depends. My neighbourhood is full of Quebec separatists who hang the Quebec flag over the Canadian one.

You're in fucking Montreal, idiot. Every single piece of rural quebecois like myself believe Montrealers are the most entitled city dwelling idiots in the country. No one ever said that people in Montreal are white trash, ever. It's not a thing. It really isn't. Montreal is filled with spoiled whiny pansies, nothing else.
DESU in CDN you're more likely to be assaulted by a Filipino gang, than raped by a big black man.
Nolan Cook
can someone post that pic where a quebecois girl complains on facebook about her uni's toilet being covered in poo with pictures attached

What do Quebec accents sound like to the French?
Brayden Gray
I'm white, thank you very much.
Owen Long
Sure you are.

Rustic and stupid is what they keep telling me. I can tell you what it's like learning French
>decide that every true Canadian shoukd speak English and French >I will show solidarity with my Québecois and Acadien neighbours >start learning >really get into it, watch French TV and film, use language apps, buy language study books, read French books and articles, listen to French music, etc >extensive immersion >basically all of them use France French >start getting better and better over time >after a few months I can understand most of what is being said on movies and TV shows >don't even need subtitles most of the time after 6 months >oddly though I can't understand local French radio >assume it's because disc jockeys talk oddly and very fast >a Québec film comes on Netflix >I am excited >watch it >I don't understand a single fucking word >panic >watch some Québecois youtubers (I don't really use YT much so I hadn't looked for Québec French up to this point) >it wasn't a fluke >I can't understand any of them at all
I can read Québecois just fine on /fr/ but their accents, words, and language patterns, make understanding everyday spoken French very difficult for me. I will have to learn it later like a 3rd language.

>white man thinks croissant gives diabeetus
Evan Lee
I'm not kidding. Every bakery here uses a ton of butter and sugar. Way too much. No wonder Quebec has the highest obesity rate in the country.
Lincoln Diaz
Québec is the thinest province or territory except British Columbia which gets a boost from all the tiny east Asians. And you can't have too much butter in a croissant, if you just sculpted a croissant out of butter and then sprinkled some flour on top that would be a perfectly good croissant. It's also the safest province in Canada, best architecture, best food, has the most history and arguably culture intact, and is whiter than any part of Canada save Newfoundland anc the Matitimes.
im moving to mcgill ghetto this summer what should I expect?
Ryan Bailey
The restaurants there are all disgusting.

Matthew Foster
If it wasn't for the ang*os living in Québec it would have passed
Parker Anderson
They are high class women not actual escorts or prostitutes, they are meant to show up for an event and look pretty. The answer ranges between none and 20%.
Dylan Lopez
