Thousands of Canadians were in Vladivostok and we were allied with the losing side. Just because Canadians did not see much combat does not mean that we weren't there as part of the losing team.
Afghanistan was definitely a loss. 18 years ago we claimed that the Taliban was defeated, a few months ago Afghanistan said their security forces were taking unsustainable losses at the hands of the same Taliban insurgents that were "defeated" 18 years ago.
