Just because it is constructed in the sense that we gave certain groups of alleles names does not mean these groupings themselves are “socially constructed”.

That’s like saying the sexes, male and female, are socially constructed just because we named them and in common parlance disregard the extreme outliers presented by the various possible intersex conditions.

You missed the point. The definition might be arbitrary (“socially constructed”) but the underlying biological specifics are objective. It is just a matter of what you call them and how you delineate them.

You and your “real”. The definition certainly exists as a concept and has shaped history. That makes it real even though there is no allele group with a tiny label with “Celts” written on it in any human’s DNA.
