there are more then dozen german ethno villages here,its usualy small group between 4 or 8 germans buying cheap land,constructing couple of houses and then the rest move in with large campers,trailers or similar,they are pretty chill but its kind of bizarre and i am actualy courious how much are outside this region(i am from this part)

Yeah, he's a retired boomer who moved and now lives here, he's from the Swiss border area which is why I expected him to be stuck up and autistic (and he is the second a bit, I guess it's builtin in Germans), but he turned out to be polite, communicative and funny. I asked directly what's wrong with him for coming over here since he could easily choose better destinations but he said he likes that people are friendly with him, the food, everything being super cheap, the nature etc. He did complain about government administration, regulations and corruption and since he is a clueless foreigner unscrupulous people (both in government and private sector) instantly took advantage from him by asking for bribes, overcharging him for various things etc.

I have. Weird accents. I've never met two germans that had the same accent, its like each German tries hard to come up with a normal accent and comes up with something very unique.

When I was in university there was a German woman who was like 55 years old in the program for some reason. She was fat & unkempt and had very outspoken left wing political views, generally awkward and unpleasant person.

One time someone (ironically a Jap) brought up how bad Germans were in WWII and she started freaking out though, so that was interesting.

I bully the fuck out of Jow Forums germans but Germans in general that travel abroad are usually a) polite and modern people into millenial things like hiking in nature, exercising and art and so-on b) progressive (not a bad thing, progressives are just people with "optimistic" mindset to improve society) and c) worldly and open minded.

Opposite of the French and most Brits who are pretty shite and half I meet have a weird chip on their shoulder.

I do not know the situation of Germans in Germany, but I hope they aren't like Americans where travelling Americans are usually relatable and modern whereas ones who never leave the country are insufferable; close-minded; and lack any self-reflection.

I kinda think a lot comes from being wary of how they are perceived, e.g. Americans in Canada and Europe who aren't militarycucks atleast kinda know their government is shit and Germans carry the same sense about their history.

Like 10-20% of Americans have been outside of North America. Aside from the border towns here where you have white trash tourists the ones that go to universities in my city (Ottawa) are generally chill, modern and forward looking.

America is a land of dichotomies. Like 15% would actually learn another language fluently and strive for the idea of "personal fulfilment" or experiencing things in life. Easily 40% of millenial Canadians have that mindset so real-life Canadians people think are a "laid-back and open-minded" group since our living standards feel "safe".

The rest are whipped into some kind of neurosis combined with basically no social stability; e.g. anger towards one another due to politics/race/class or fear at lack of healthcare/debts/etc and American culture creates a strong pressure to conform and blend in instead of "live and let live".

I think most of it is explained by the shitty social security/debt situation since upper middle class americans aren't so affected combined with their news and politics being straight up propaganda 90% of the time.
